Braves | Jason Grilli loses in return

Tue, 12 May 2015 22:36:31 -0700

Atlanta Braves RP Jason Grilli (back) allowed a run and two hits in one-third of an inning Tuesday, May 12, against the Cincinnati Reds.

Fantasy Tip: Grilli was sidelined due to back spasms, and he took the loss in a non-save situation. Avoid him in standard fantasy leagues until he can get back on track. Jim Johnson is waiting in the wings, and it might be a good idea to grab him as a handcuff.

Braves | Jason Grilli felt he was ready

Mon, 11 May 2015 22:03:44 -0700

Atlanta Braves RP Jason Grilli (back) played catch and ran on the field before the game Monday, May 11, testing his back injury. He felt fine after the workout and told manager Fredi Gonzalez he was available after being out the past two days due to back spasms.

Fantasy Tip: Grilli was not used for the save situation Monday, as Gonzalez opted for Jim Johnson. It's uncertain if Gonzalez was just being overly cautious with Grilled Cheese or if there is a closer-by-committee situation brewing in Hotlanta. Stay tuned.

Braves | Jason Grilli better on the road

Wed, 29 Apr 2015 12:28:31 -0700

Mets | Jeurys Familia shares saves lead

Sun, 19 Apr 2015 18:06:20 -0700

New York Mets RP Jeurys Familia is tied with Atlanta Braves RP Jason Grilli for the MLB lead in saves through Sunday, April 19.

Fantasy Tip: Familia needs to be owned in all season-long leagues. Mets RP Bobby Parnell (elbow) is nearing a return, but Familia's strong start to the season should allow the Mets to ease Parnell back into a late-inning role. Fantasy owners should capitalize on Familia's success for as long as it lasts.

Braves | Jason Grilli to be primary ATL closer

Mon, 06 Apr 2015 10:41:01 -0700

Atlanta Braves RP Jason Grilli will serve as the team's primary closer, according to manager Fredi Gonzalez.

Fantasy Tip: Grilli has closing experience; he saved 33 games back in 2013 with the Pittsburgh Pirates and 12 saves last year between the Bucs and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. He should be immediately scooped up off your league's waiver wire if he's still available. Jim Johnson is next in line if Grilli falters.
