Bart Hubbuch, of the Florida Times-Union, reports for The Sporting News that the Jacksonville Jaguars could focus on Utah OT Jordan Gross in the draft. The team's offensive line depth has been depleted with the loss of three starters (G/T Zach Pillars, C John Wade and OT Todd Fordham) via free agency and the release of two backup guards (Derrick Chambers and Aaron Koch).

The Jacksonville Jaguars have not given a tender offer to OL Aaron Koch (knee), who is a restricted free agent. Instead, the team has reached an agreement in principal on a new deal that will allow Koch to return.

The Florida Times-Union reports two injured Jacksonville Jaguars players will impact the team's 2002 salary cap. OL Chris Ziemann and Aaron Koch will both miss the season with knee injuries. Ziemann had a split contract reducing his salary from $300,000 to $145,000 if he's not on the active roster. Counting his $15,000 signing bonus, he'll count $160,000 on the Jaguars cap. Koch didn't have a split contract so he'll cost them his entire base salary of $375,000. He also had a $4,050 workout bonus. Both appear to be headed to the IR list.

Bart Hubbuch reports for the Florida Times-Union that Cs Brad Meester, who was recently moved from left guard, and John Wade had problems with poor snaps and communication Saturday. Head coach Tom Coughlin said he will work with Meester and Wade had no problems with third team C Aaron Koch. Coughlin and Meester are still confident that Meester can be the starting center, but Coughlin wants to be sure rookie Mike Pearson can start at left tackle before making anything official.

Slaughter (knee/ankle) and TE Damon Jones (shoulder) both missed Wednesday's practice and head coach Tom Coughlin wasn't forthcoming on whether they'd be able to play this weekend. Both are listed as questionable. OLT Todd Fordham (ankle) was limited in practice. He was replaced by Aaron Koch early in practice.

Updating an ongoing storyline, the Times Union reports Jacksonville Jaguars OT Tony Boselli sat out Sunday's game with a shoulder injury. According to a source, though, Boselli is suffering from a torn labrum, which is a ring of fibrous tissue that anchors the biceps tendon as well as ligaments in the shoulder. Some offensive linemen have played with the injury for an entire season, it often calls for two to four weeks of rest. Boselli has apparently been playing with the injury since training camp, when he only practiced once a day. Backup OL Aaron Koch, who replaced Boselli Sunday, said, "Tony is going to be out for a while."

The Associated Press Jacksonville Jaguars QB Mark Brunell was injured on Jacksonville's first offensive play of today's game when Cleveland Browns DE Keith McKenzie stormed past OT Tony Boselli's replacement, Aaron Koch, and forced Brunell into a rushed flip to SRB tacey Mack, who batted it to Cleveland's Orpheus Roye for an interception. On the backside of the play, Brunell took a vicious, some say unnecessary hit in the head from rookie DT Gerard Warren. Brunell returned briefly, but his headaches persisted, and by halftime, he was out, and the Jaguars struggles continued. Coach Tom Coughlin said he didn't know how serious the injury was.

Boselli (shoulder), as reported by ESPNews, is expected to play through the injury.

Associated Press reports Jacksonville Jaguars OLT Tony Boselli (shoulder) was added to the team's injury report on Thursday with a sore right shoulder. He said it's just wear and tear but wasn't able to practice on Thursday, while being replaced by Aaron Koch in the starting lineup during practice.

Neither TE Damon Jones nor OL Zach Wiegert will play in the pre-season game tomorrow night. Aaron Koch will start again at right guard. FS Carnell Lake is expected to play in the game. It will be his first game since the end of the 1999 season.
