Jaguars | Injuries Affect the Cap

Tue, 04 Jun 2002 21:11:02 -0700

The Florida Times-Union reports two injured Jacksonville Jaguars players will impact the team's 2002 salary cap. OL Chris Ziemann and Aaron Koch will both miss the season with knee injuries. Ziemann had a split contract reducing his salary from $300,000 to $145,000 if he's not on the active roster. Counting his $15,000 signing bonus, he'll count $160,000 on the Jaguars cap. Koch didn't have a split contract so he'll cost them his entire base salary of $375,000. He also had a $4,050 workout bonus. Both appear to be headed to the IR list.
