WVLT reports former NFL LB Eric Westmoreland has joined Baylor School's football coaching staff in Tennessee. In addition to assisting with coaching, Westmoreland will reside on campus and work in Baylor's residential life program as a dorm parent.

Jacksonville Jaguars LB Eric Westmoreland blew a blocking assignment on the blocked punt that led to a safety Sunday, Sept. 7 against the Carolina Panthers. The blocked punt was the first allowed in team history. Westmoreland handled that duty last year and it's uncertain if he will retain it.

Currently starting alongside fellow LBs Keith Mitchell and Mike Peterson, Ayodele is fighting to stay the starter against LBs T.J. Slaughter and Eric Westmoreland. Ayodele is also being used at defensive end in third-down and obvious passing situations.

Slaugher (knee/ankle) out, backup strong-side backer Danny Clark worked with the starting unit next to Kevin Hardy and Hardy Nickerson. Clark's promotion could be a sign the team is unhappy with rookie Eric Westmoreland, who has struggled recently.

No word yet on a return date for him. Starting LB T.J. Slaughter will not play in the team's pre-season finale tomorrow night. He has a separated right shoulder. The team hopes he'll be ready for the season opener.

Chris Siders reports for the Orlando Sentinel Jacksonville Jaguars OTs Zach Wiegert and Tony Boselli continued their sideline rehab work at Saturday's mini-camp. The offensive line featured rookie Maurice Williams at right tackle, 6-8 and 300-pound Gannon Shepherd at left tackle and an interior of Brad Meester, Jeff Smith and John Wade. WR Emanuel Smith has been making tough catches and showing good quickness off the line so far in mini-camp. Rookie Eric Westmoreland looks like the quickest linebacker in camp.
