New York Mets 3B David Wright (neck) pinch hit and struck out looking Monday, April 29, but he's questionable to play Tuesday, April 30, with a stiff neck. Wright said the stiffness runs down the right side of his neck to his back. "Like I said, I played through it yesterday, so it's not that big of a deal," Wright said. "I would say it's better now than it was when I woke up this morning, which is a good thing. So I think the treatment that I got on it during the day helped and was beneficial. I'll wake up tomorrow and see how it feels. I'd like to play as soon as possible, so we'll see."

Fantasy Tip: Wright remains day-to-day for now, so continue to check to see if he's in the starting lineup.

New York Mets 3B David Wright (neck) said he's unconcerned with his neck issue, and he thinks he could return as early as Tuesday, April 30. "I'm very unconcerned about it," Wright said. "It's not something I'm worried about. It stinks that I can't play. That's the biggest thing. The biggest thing for me is I just want it to be a one-day thing and not try to fight through it, and all of the sudden, do something a little more serious."

Fantasy Tip: It remains to be seen when Wright will return to action. Continue to check each day this week to see if he returns.

Fantasy Tip: The club is hoping it's just a day-to-day situation, so stay tuned on this one. Justin Turner is the likely replacement if Wright misses a few days. Jordany Valdespin could also fill in, if needed.

Fantasy Tip: Wright said baseball activities really never bothered him in the WBC, it was being stationary. This is good news considering the volatility of side/oblique injuries. He should be good to go.

The New York Mets are expecting 3B David Wright (intercostal) to be ready for opening day April 1.

Fantasy Tip: Wright has already received at-bats in minor league games, so that is an encouraging sign. He remains one of the top third base assets in fantasy baseball.

New York Mets 3B David Wright (intercostal) went 1-for-5 as the designated hitter in minor league action Tuesday, March 26, his first game action since March 12 in the World Baseball Classic. He is expected to play in another minor league game Thursday, March 28. "I've been optimistic about opening day since I came back to St. Lucie and I talked with the doctors and the trainers about the diagnosis. As I said yesterday, it's kind of the same thing today: It's another step closer. I'm still very optimistic," Wright said.

Fantasy Tip: You should be optimistic as well, especially since he would be able to have a DL stint backdated to begin the season if need be. Take advantage of this in drafts if Wright falls on the board.

New York Mets 3B David Wright (intercostal) said he "felt good" after hitting off a tee Saturday, March 23. It marked the first time he had taken any swings since suffering an intercostal strain while participating in the World Baseball Classic. He also fielded grounders and played catch. It is uncertain when Wright will be able to play in games again.
