Blue Jays | Jose Bautista not ready to play

Mon, 25 May 2015 13:42:29 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays OF Jose Bautista (shoulder) is not in the starting lineup Monday, May 25. 1B Edwin Encarnacion will serve as the designated hitter, while 1B Justin Smoak will start at first base.

Fantasy Tip: It is not known when Bautista ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) will be able to play again so owners should monitor the situation. Encarnacion ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) should be a nightly starting option on FantasyScore. Smoak ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) is only hitting .217 this month and has recorded two RBI during that span. Owners on FantasyScore should avoid Smoak for the time being.

Blue Jays | Edwin Encarnacion should hit this week

Tue, 17 Mar 2015 17:18:37 -0700

Updating a previous report, Toronto Blue Jays 1B Edwin Encarnacion (back) is expected to resume hitting drills this week. He's "not concerned at all" about his readiness for opening day, nor is Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos.

Fantasy Tip: Enarnacion is an elite power hitter who isn't a drag on batting average. He also projects to provide lots of run production hitting in a talented Blue Jays lineup, making him an first-round target in fantasy drafts.
