Blue Jays | Edwin Encarnacion hits No. 17

Wed, 01 Jul 2015 16:16:42 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 1B Edwin Encarnacion hit his 17th home run and drove in three runs during the Blue Jays' 11-2 win over the Boston Red Sox Wednesday, July 1.

Fantasy Tip: Encarnacion ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) is also up to 50 RBI for the season, so returning another monster year in the home run and RBI columns looks likely for 2015. Still, he is sporting a .240/.322/.476 slash line and fantasy owners wouldn't mind some improvements there, especially in the batting average. FantasyScore players can start Encarnacion with confidence in favorable pitching matchups.

Blue Jays | Edwin Encarnacion homers twice

Fri, 26 Jun 2015 20:53:58 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 1B Edwin Encarnacion went 3-for-5 with a grand slam and a solo home run in a 12-2 win over the Texas Rangers Friday, June 26.

Fantasy Tip: Encarnacion ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) is providing his typical power numbers, but his .245 average highlights is inconsistency. He is a bit of a high-risk, high-reward play at FantasyScore, but he can carry a lineup on the right night.

Blue Jays | Dioner Navarro out Friday

Fri, 26 Jun 2015 13:54:35 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays C Dioner Navarro is not in the starting lineup Friday, June 26. 1B Edwin Encarnacion is serving as the designated hitter and batting cleanup, while OF Chris Colabello is at first base. OF Ezequiel Carrera draws a start in left field and is hitting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Against Rangers starter Nick Martinez, all Blue Jays players are decent plays on FantasyScore tonight with the game in Toronto, a hitter-friendly environment.

Blue Jays | Edwin Encarnacion struggles vs. TB

Mon, 22 Jun 2015 22:51:42 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 1B Edwin Encarnacion was hitless in four at-bats against the Tampa Bay Rays Monday, June 22, and he has managed just four hits in his past 52 at-bats against the Rays.

Fantasy Tip: Encarnacion ($5,400; or 10.8% of cap) is a tremendous option for his power in FantasyScore, but when he is facing the Rays he should be avoided until he starts to hit their staff a little better.

Blue Jays | Edwin Encarnacion will be 1B

Sat, 20 Jun 2015 07:37:15 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 1B Edwin Encarnacion will start at first base against Baltimore Orioles SP Kevin Gausman Saturday, June 20. 1B Justin Smoak is not in the starting lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Encarnacion ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) is hitting .359 this month with one home run and eight RBI. Encarnacion should be a starting option for owners on FantasyScore against most matchups.

Blue Jays | Edwin Encarnacion not in lineup Thursday

Thu, 18 Jun 2015 11:49:27 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 1B Edwin Encarnacion is out of the starting lineup Thursday, June 18. 1B Justin Smoak is batting fourth and OF Ezequiel Carrera is in right field.

Fantasy Tip: Encarnacion ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) appears to be getting a regular night off, as none of his splits suggest anything worth worrying about. Smoak ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) has two home runs and a .429 average in the past week, and he is a worthy start candidate. Carrera ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has a .250 mark in the last week and is a good start candidate at that low price.

Blue Jays | Hit streak ends for Edwin Encarnacion

Wed, 17 Jun 2015 22:31:05 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 1B Edwin Encarnacion was hitless in four at-bats with a strikeout Wednesday, June 17, against the Miami Marlins to drop his average to .235 and end his nine-game hitting streak.

Fantasy Tip: Encarnacion ($5,400; or 10.8% of cap) is still hitting .333 (12-for-36) with eight runs scored, a homer and six RBIs over the past 10 games. His average has been subpar, but he remains a solid source of power for FantasyScore players.

Blue Jays | Edwin Encarnacion starting at 1B

Wed, 17 Jun 2015 13:54:09 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 1B Edwin Encarnacion is starting at first base against New York Mets SP Jon Niese Wednesday, June 17, and is batting fourth in the lineup. 1B Justin Smoak is not in the starting lineup Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Encarnacion ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) his picked up at least one hit in each of his last nine games and should be a solid starting option on FantasyScore. Smoak ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) likely will return to the lineup in the near future.

Blue Jays | Edwin Encarnacion hot since return

Sat, 13 Jun 2015 14:53:18 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 1B Edwin Encarnacion went 2-for-5 Saturday, June 13, against the Boston Red Sox. Martin scored a run and struck out twice.

Fantasy Tip: Encarnacion ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) is 6-for-15 in four games since returning from a minor shoulder injury that caused him to miss two games. With the injury behind him, Encarnacion is once again a safe play on FantasyScore.

Blue Jays | Edwin Encarnacion returns to action

Fri, 12 Jun 2015 15:05:46 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 1B Edwin Encarnacion (shoulder) is back in the starting lineup as the designated hitter against Boston Red Sox SP Joe Kelly Friday, June 12, after tweaking his shoulder in his last game. Encarnacion is hitting cleanup.

Fantasy Tip: Although Encarnacion ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) doesn't have much to show in the average department, he has hit 12 of his 13 home runs against right-handed pitching. Kelly has been very inconsistent this year, too, and five of his six homers this year were to righties. Encarnacion will be an under-the-radar play tonight that could pay off handsomely.
