|Blue Jays | Toronto to consider extending Encarnacion|
Fri, 05 Feb 2016 14:03:52 -0800
Fantasy Tip: Encarnacion can run a bit hot-and-cold in the batting average department, but the 33-year-old has nonetheless been one of the majors' top power hitters over the last four seasons, averaging nearly 38 homers and 106 RBI over that span. Even at the loaded first-base position, the two-time All-Star is worthy of a top-20 pick in all leagues.

|Blue Jays | Edwin Encarnacion imposes deadline|
Mon, 07 Dec 2015 10:19:24 -0800
Toronto Blue Jays 1B Edwin Encarnacion said he will commit to being a free agent if an extension isn't worked out with the Blue Jays by the end of spring training next year. Sources have said the Boston Red Sox would have notable interest in Encarnacion if he were to become a free agent after next season. Encarnacion will make $10 million in 2016.
Fantasy Tip: Encarnacion has been one of the premier power hitters the last couple of years, and taking his hacks in Toronto has helped his cause. However, his age and injury concerns should have fantasy owners a little more worried about taking him in the early portion of fantasy drafts.

|Blue Jays | Edwin Encarnacion resumes working out|
Thu, 26 Nov 2015 17:42:59 -0800
Toronto Blue Jays 1B/DH Edwin Encarnacion (hernia) has resumed working out following sports hernia surgery last month. He tweeted a short video of himself jogging in his native Dominican Republic Thursday, Nov. 27.
Fantasy Tip: Encarnacion, who will turn 33 in January, is expected to be completely healthy by the time spring training camp opens in late February. He hit .277 with 39 home runs and 111 RBIs in 146 regular-season games in 2015 and is still projected to be taken in the early rounds of fantasy baseball drafts despite the injury concerns.

|Blue Jays | Three regulars in Toronto returning|
Tue, 03 Nov 2015 09:37:58 -0800
Fantasy Tip: Bautista and Encarnacion are similar aging players with plus-power still, but Encarnacion will fall further in drafts because he has more injury concerns. Dickey is far removed from his Cy Young season with the New York Mets in the National League. He continues to be a matchup play that has more success in the hitter-friendly confines of Rogers Centre, though.

|Blue Jays | Edwin Encarnacion expected to return|
Wed, 28 Oct 2015 18:32:00 -0700
The Toronto Blue Jays are expected to exercise their $10 million option on 1B/DH Edwin Encarnacion for the 2016 season, according to multiple sources. If the team declined the option, they would have to pay him a $2 million buyout.
Fantasy Tip: Encarnacion, who will turn 33 before the start of the 2016 season, hit .277 with 39 home runs and 111 RBIs in 146 regular-season games in 2015. He should be selected in the early rounds of all fantasy baseball drafts next spring.

|Blue Jays | Edwin Encarnacion has surgery|
Tue, 27 Oct 2015 10:46:37 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Encarnacion has had 30-plus homers in each of the last four seasons for the Blue Jays, and he's driven in 100 runs in three of the last four. At 33 years old for the 2016 season, injuries will become a much bigger problem for him, but if he can remain healthy he should continue to be productive in a great hitting environment. Just make sure to consider the health risk that surrounds him when filling out your roster.

|Blue Jays | Toronto sluggers set for bad game?|
Wed, 21 Oct 2015 10:12:12 -0700
Toronto Blue Jays OF Jose Bautista (3-for-18) and SS Troy Tulowitzki (3-for-17) have struggled in their careers against Kansas City Royals SP Edinson Volquez, who will start Game 5 of the American League Championship Series Wednesday, Oct. 21. 1B Edwin Encarnacion has three walks and a home run for a .250/.400/.500 slash line in his career off Volquez.
Fantasy Tip: All of Toronto's sluggers can go off at any time but will be expensive on FantasyScore. It's worth your while to find space for at least one of them today, though, but Josh Donaldson ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) may be your best bet.

|Blue Jays | Edwin Encarnacion serving as DH|
Sat, 17 Oct 2015 10:20:29 -0700
Updating previous reports, Toronto Blue Jays 1B/DH Edwin Encarnacion (finger) is in the starting lineup for Game 2 of the American League Championship Series Saturday, Oct. 17. He will bat cleanup and serve as the designated hitter.
Fantasy Tip: Encarnacion ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) left Game 1 of the ALCS due to a strained left middle finger but X-rays came back negative. He is 6-for-21 this postseason with a home run and three RBIs and makes a solid option at first base in FantasyScore today.

|Blue Jays | X-rays negative for Edwin Encarnacion|
Fri, 16 Oct 2015 20:41:32 -0700
Updating a previous report, Toronto Blue Jays 1B Edwin Encarnacion's (finger) X-rays came back negative, but manager John Gibbons said Encarnacion's finger has swelled up, and he is now considered day to day.
Fantasy Tip: It sounds like Encarnacion ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) could at least miss a game or two, so be prepared to look elsewhere for a big bat at FantasyScore.

|Blue Jays | Edwin Encarnacion injured|
Fri, 16 Oct 2015 20:22:11 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Stayed tuned for updates on Encarnacion's ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) status. If he misses time, Justin Smoak ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) could slide into the lineup and be worth a look at FantasyScore as a high-risk, high-reward sleeper.
