S Marlon McCree (ankle) may see some action although Ainsley Battles will start. As an update to a previous story, NFL.com reports the Jacksonville Jaguars have officially re-signed backup QB Jamie Martin. The team also re-signed LB Edward Thomas. He played in four games each with the 49ers and Jaguars last season. Thomas was released earlier this off-seaon in a cap saving move. The team also signed street free agent DB Chandler Smith. Smith last played for Southern Mississippi in 1998 and has never been in a pro training camp. He plays safety and cornerback.
