Seattle Mariners manager Eric Wedge said OF Franklin Gutierrez (heel) is still feeling soreness in his heel. Wedge indicated Gutierrez's move to extended spring training may be delayed because of the injury.

Seattle Mariners OF Franklin Gutierrez (heel) did some running for the second consecutive day Thursday, May 24, and will play in five or six extended spring training games starting this weekend. He would then start a 20-day rehab assignment if his heel continues to improve.

Seattle Mariners OF Franklin Gutierrez (pectoral, heel) did some light running Wednesday, May 23, after taking batting practice for the first time Tuesday, May 22. He'll work with the team this week and start playing in extended spring training games Monday, May 28. Gutierrez is expected to play in five or six games before heading out on a minor league rehab assignment. He could return to the team in late June if everything goes according to plan.

Seattle Mariners OF Franklin Gutierrez (foot, pectoral) is still receiving treatment for plantar fasciitis in his heel, and he's unlikely to return until late June at the earliest. He's throwing and hitting without issue, but his foot injury will keep him off his feet for another two weeks. Gutierrez will likely work out in Arizona once he's fully healthy and then embark on a 20-day minor league rehab assignment.

Seattle Mariners SP Franklin Gutierrez (heel) was examined Wednesday, May 9, in Seattle by team doctors and was told to take another few days off. The pectoral injury that landed him on the disabled list to open the season has healed, but Gutierrez has developed plantar fasciitis in a heel, and his rehab has been hampered by it.

Seattle Mariners manager Eric Wedge said Friday, April 27, that OF Franklin Gutierrez (pectoral) is fine, as far as his partially torn pectoral muscle is concerned. However, he indicated that Gutierrez is now dealing with plantar fasciitis in his heel.

Seattle Mariners OF Franklin Gutierrez (pectoral) has been swinging a bat a few times a week, but he's unsure when he will be able to return. He will definitely not be joining the team for their trip to Japan to open the regular season against the Oakland Athletics. Gutierrez is still unable to throw, though, and he's unsure when he will attempt to do so.
