Rangers | Martin Perez to DL

Wed, 14 May 2014 13:08:36 -0700

The Texas Rangers placed SP Martin Perez (elbow) on the 15-day disabled list with left elbow inflammation Wednesday, May 14, and recalled SPs Scott Baker and Nick Tepesch from the minors in corresponding moves. Also, P Justin Germano was designated for assignment.

Fantasy Tip: Tepesch is taking the rotation spot left by Perez. Add him in AL-only leagues if you're in need of a warm body for innings. With Perez out for at least 15 days, Tanner Scheppers (elbow) is another candidate to take his rotation spot when he's healthy.

Rangers | Donnie Murphy to DL, Rougned Odor coming up

Thu, 08 May 2014 13:18:00 -0700

The Texas Rangers placed 2B Donnie Murphy (neck) on the disable list Thursday, May 8, and recalled 2B Rougned Odor, RP Justin Germano and SS Luis Sardinas. Also, the team designated 2B Joshua Wilson and RP Scott Baker for assignment.

Fantasy Tip: Odor is a top prospect of the Rangers that can hit for average, power and can run a little bit. He's a must add in all AL leagues, but he's probably merely keeping the keystone warm until Jurickson Profar can return from injury early next month.
