Toronto Blue Jays SP Dustin McGowan (shoulder) was sent to visit renowned Dr. James Andrews Wednesday, April 25, and structural damage was ruled out. It is just inflammation, but it is considered another serious blow.

Toronto Blue Jays SP Dustin McGowan (foot) will be out until at least the end of April with a right foot injury. He will be held out for at least the next five to seven days. "Let's say he misses two and a half weeks, he'll need two and a half more weeks to get back to the game status he was in when he came out," manager John Farrell said.

His mechanics suffered while trying to throw off flat ground Wednesday, March 28, so the team will limit his activity until he's healthy. He looks unlikely to open the year as the No. 5 starter, which could open the spot for SP Kyle Drabek.
