The Kansas City Royals recalled OF Jarrod Dyson from Triple-A Omaha Friday, April 27, and optioned OF Jason Bourgeois to Omaha in a corresponding move. Dyson hit .333 with three triples, three doubles and had seven stolen bases in eight tries with Omaha.

The Kansas City Royals haven't announced who will start in center field in place of OF Lorenzo Cain (groin), but OFs Jarrod Dyson, Jason Bourgeois and Mitch Maier are the options. "We've got some options because we've got a right-handed hitter in Bourgeois, we've got left-handed hitters in Maier and Dyson. I like Maier coming off the bench a little more, and with Dyson's ability to roam the outfield - and he's off to a great start in Triple-A - we'll use him a lot out there," manager Ned Yost said.

Kansas City Royals OF Alex Gordon and 3B Mike Moustakas are taking the day off Monday, April 9. OF Jason Bourgeois is starting for Gordon and SS Yuniesky Betancourt is subbing for Moustakas.

Houston Astros manager Bradley Mills used OFs Jordan Schafer and Jason Bourgeois, two of the team's fastest players, at the top of the batting order Friday, March 9, in Grapefruit League action against the Toronto Blue Jays. "It gives the whole lineup a different look, which I think is important," Mills said.

Houston Astros OF Brian Bogusevic will get a long look in center field this spring, and he'll compete with OFs Jordan Schafer and Jason Bourgeois for the starting job there. "His ability gives him the opportunity to be able to play center or right, but we want this guy to step up and be an everyday starter for us and there's no reason he won't be able to," manager Bradley Mills said of Bogusevic. "We all saw what he can do at times last year." OF Jack Cust, 1B Jonathan Singleton and INFs Matt Downs and Brian Bixler will also see time in the outfield.

Houston Astros general manager Ed Wade said the team will look to use a combination of OFs J.D. Martinez, J.B. Shuck, Jason Bourgeois and Brian Bogusevic in the corner-outfield spots with OF Jordan Schafer in center field.
