Los Angeles Dodgers RP Ronald Belisario posted a strikeout in an efficient 11-pitch perfect eighth inning Saturday, May 5, against the Chicago Cubs. It was his first game of the season after serving a 25-game suspension. "He was good, lights out," manager Don Mattingly said.

However, it is uncertain if he will be added, especially since he isn't on the 40-man roster. Belisario allowed two unearned runs, a hit and two walks while recording two outs in a conditioning outing with Triple-A Albuquerque Tuesday.

Belisario's 25-game suspension for a positive drug test will expire in time for him to join the Dodgers on Friday, May 4, in Chicago, but he must be added to the 40-man roster first.

Los Angeles Dodgers RP Ronald Belisario has obtained his papers in order to leave Venezuela and has already started his spring workouts at the team's spring training complex in Arizona. However, he must serve a 25-game suspension to begin the season for violating the league's drug program. He had an ERA of 5.16 in 23 games in the Venezuelan Winter League in the offseason, allowing 27 hits, 15 walks and 21 strikeouts in 22 2/3 frames.

During the 2010 season, Belisario left the Dodgers for over a month to receive treatment in a substance-abuse program. It is not known what the latest offense was that landed Belisario in suspension.
