Los Angeles Dodgers RP J.P. Howell and INF/OF Skip Schumaker have been suspended for two games for their aggressive actions during the incidents of the game on Tuesday, June 11, against the Arizona Diamondbacks. RP Ronald Belisario has been suspended for one game for a similar reason. Manager Don Mattingly has been suspended for one game for the actions of his club and his conduct during the incidents. Hitting coach Mark McGwire has been suspended for two games for his conduct during the incidents. Mattingly is scheduled to serve his suspension on Friday, June 14. McGwire will serve his on Friday and Saturday, June 15.

Also, SP Zack Greinke and OF Yasiel Puig were fined undisclosed amounts. All player discipline is subject to appeal.

The organization has also been fined for allowing players who are on the disabled list to enter the field during the incidents. The Dodgers will not be allowed to have players who are on the DL to sit in their dugout for their games throughout this coming weekend. Those players may return to their benches on Monday, June 17.

Fantasy Tip: Phew. Thankfully, for fantasy owners, Greinke and Puig escaped without suspensions. The rest of this is inconsequential for fantasy purposes, essentially.

The Los Angeles Dodgers avoided arbitration with RP Ronald Belisario Friday, Jan. 18, by agreeing to a one-year, $1.45 million deal. Belisario made $480,000 last season, and he'll make an extra $50,000 if he appears in 70 games this year.

Los Angeles Dodgers RP Ronald Belisario will not play for the rest of the winter ball season in Venezuela after asking and being granted permission to leave the squad for personal reasons. When he did not return as scheduled, he was removed from his team's roster. Belisario and the general manager of the Venezuelan team were reportedly at odds. The Dodgers aren't concerned that this latest issue will cause him to miss spring training.

Los Angeles Dodgers RP Kenley Jansen (heart) is being treated for issues related to an irregular heartbeat, and he's been sidelined indefinitely. Jansen was hospitalized Tuesday, Aug. 28, and manager Don Mattingly didn't discuss plans for the ninth inning should Jansen miss extended time. RPs Ronald Belisario and Brandon League are options in the ninth inning in Jansen's absence.

Los Angeles Dodgers RP Kenley Jansen (heart) was held out Tuesday, Aug. 28, and Wednesday, Aug. 29, because of his ongoing heart condition. He spent time on the disabled list earlier this year with an irregular heartbeat. If Jansen is experiencing hemorrhaging, he could be lost for the rest of the season. RP Ronald Belisario was used to close out the game Wednesday, earning his first save of the season.

Fantasy Tip: Jansen owners need to keep a close eye on this development, but in the meantime, Jansen owner or not, saves chasers need to be proactive and grab either Belisario or Brandon League.

Belisario has been solid this month (14 K's in 11 1/3 frames, two earned runs), so perhaps that's why he was given the nod in Wednesday's save chance over League. However, League is probably the better bet if Jansen has to miss the final month of the season.

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said he's unsure how he'll use RP Brandon League with RP Ronald Belisario setting up RP Kenley Jansen recently. "I've seen this cat in the American League, and he's dirty," Mattingly said. "He may be having trouble with lefties this year, but this guy is like (Belisario). When he's getting the ball down, he's getting everybody out."

Los Angeles Dodgers RP Ronald Belisario was detained before leaving Venezuela and missed connections in Miami. He caught a later flight and arrived in Los Angeles late Thursday. He's expected to be ready for the game Friday, July 13.
