Mon, 16 Dec 2002 22:06:14 -0800 Bart Hubbuch reports for the Florida Times-Union the Jacksonville Jaguars are seeking a new fullback, due to the season-ending injury to FB Patrick Washington (knee). The only other potential fullback on the roster, Dan Alexander, is considered more of a halfback than a fullback. Finding a versatile fullback who can block and catch well has become a chore for NFL teams. "It's a tough position to fill," coach Tomn Coughlin said.
Sun, 15 Dec 2002 21:42:20 -0800 Vito Stellino reports for the Florida Times-Union Jacksonville Jaguars RB Patrick Washington (knee) suffered a torn MCL and left the stadium on crutches. It appears he will miss the team's last two games and he will probably need surgery that will leave him to rehab the entire off-season.
Tue, 26 Mar 2002 21:15:40 -0800 Vito Stellino reports for the Times-Union Jacksonville Jaguars RB Patrick Washington has signed his one-year, $300,000 tender offer to remain with the team.
Mon, 12 Nov 2001 11:24:24 -0800 Gene Frenette reports for the Florida Times-Union that Jacksonville Jaguars DT Gary Walker (strained elbow), TE Damon Jones (strained shoulder) and FB Patrick Washington (broken nose) were all injured during Sunday's game. Walker and Washington were able to both continue to play, while Jones was unable to return to the game.
Mon, 20 Aug 2001 22:06:14 -0700 The Times-Union reports Jacksonville Jaguars undrafted free agent FB Patrick Washington is holding on to the team's starting fullback job ahead of Stacey Mack. Mack's time at fullback has been minimal, while Washington started last Thursday against the New York Giants and has remained with the first team this week.
Mon, 13 Aug 2001 21:35:17 -0700 The Times-Union reports with today's release of FB Dustin McClintock, the Jacksonville Jaguars are switching RB Stacey Mack to fullback. He and TE Lawrence Hart will play fullback in the second pre-season game Thursday against the Giants in New York. Patrick Washington is still listed as the starting FB and Kevin Clemens shows as his backup on the team's depth chart. "I'd like to see Stacey get it, because I know he can catch the ball," coach Tom Coughlin said. "So what he does as a blocker [the rest of the preseason] will have an impact on whether we count on other people [at fullback] or not."
Fri, 27 Jul 2001 14:10:29 -0700 Bart Hubbuch, of the Florida Times-Union, reports for Sporting News that Jacksonville Jaguars FB Kevin Clemens is the leading candidate to take over the starting spot at fullback. However, rookies Patrick Washington and Dustin McClintock are still in the running. Coach Tom Coughlin isn't worried about the inexperience saying the fullback position has virtually no other role in the Jaguars' offense except blocking.
