The Arizona Diamondbacks are not interested in dealing OF Gerardo Parra, despite the free-agent signing of OF Jason Kubel this offseason. "I'm not really motivated to move him," general manager Kevin Towers said Wednesday, Jan. 4. "I think it's a good fit. I think Parra will still play a lot." Towers sees Parra seeing more time in center field and right field, giving OFs Chris B. Young and Justin Upton time off against tough right-handed pitchers.

A source claims that the Minnesota Twins are not optimistic about bringing back free-agent OF/DH Jason Kubel (Twins) unless his asking price comes down. The team is reportedly focused on looking to add at least one free-agent starting pitcher from a group that could include Jeff Francis (Royals), Joel Pineiro (Angels) and Jon Garland (Dodgers), if he can prove that he is healthy.

The Minnesota Twins agreed to a multi-year deal with free-agent OF Josh Willingham (Athletics) Tuesday, Dec. 13, pending a physical, according to a league source. As a result, the team is unlikely to re-sign OFs Michael Cuddyer or Jason Kubel. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.
