The San Diego Padres recalled SP Jason Marquis from Double-A San Antonio Thursday, June 7, and he's scheduled to start Thursday. He gave up one run in seven innings in his only start with San Antonio. SS Jason Bartlett (knee) was moved to the 60-day disabled list in a corresponding move.

The San Diego Padres placed SS Jason Bartlett (undisclosed) on the 15-day disabled list Thursday, May 17, and waived 2B Orlando Hudson. INFs Everth Cabrera and Alexi Amarista will be recalled from Triple-A Tucson. The Padres will owe Hudson his $5.5 million for this year plus a $2 million buyout if he isn't claimed by another team.
