Florida Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen's coaching staff for next year has been finalized. Joey Cora will be the bench coach, Eduardo Perez the hitting coach, Randy St. Claire the pitching coach, Joe Espada the third base coach, Gary Thurman the first base/outfield/baserunning coach and Reid Cornelius the bullpen coach. Bench coach Brandon Hyde and fielding coach Perry Hill will not return.

Florida Marlins third base coach Joe Espada and bullpen coach Reid Cornelius will remain with the team under new manager Ozzie Guillen. Joey Cora will be Guillen's bench coach. Pitching coach Randy St. Claire and hitting coach Eduardo Perez will also stay with the club. Bench coach Brandon Hyde and first base/infield coach Perry Hill appear to be out.

The Chicago White Sox fired interim head coach Joey Cora Tuesday, Sept. 27, before he even had a chance to manage a single game. Cora is expected to join Florida Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen's staff in South Florida next season.

Former manager Bobby Valentine is still rumored to be the favorite for the job. However, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim coach Ron Roenicke is receiving strong late consideration.

Several sources close to the Milwaukee Brewers claim that Bobby Valentine is considered to be the favorite for the team's managerial vacancy, with Chicago White Sox bench coach Joey Cora, former Seattle Mariners and Arizona Diamondbacks manager Bob Melvin and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim bench coach Ron Roenicke believed to be the second, third and fourth choices respectively, according to SI.com's Jon Heyman. However, owner Mark Attanasio said no candidate has a clear-cut lead. "All four candidates are under consideration," he said. "We have no lead horse, and we are working through the weekend on this." Attanasio added that he expected a decision to be announced shortly after the World Series.

Former Seattle Mariners and Arizona Diamondbacks manager Bob Melvin and Chicago White Sox bench coach Joey Cora are reportedly two of the four finalists for the Milwaukee Brewers' managerial vacancy and they will be invited back for second interviews, according to Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. General manager Doug Melvin would not reveal the names of the other two candidates.
