Brewers | Ryan Braun reaches hits milestone

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun became the fastest player in franchise history to reach 1,000 career hits when he picked up singles in each of his first two at-bats Friday, July 20, against the Cincinnati Reds. It was his 815th career game. Hall of Famer Paul Molitor held the club record before, posting 1,000 hits in 835 games, while fellow Hall of Famer Robin Yount accomplished the feat in 948 games.

Twins | Molitor returns as coach

Giants | Alou successfully steals home

San Francisco Giants OF Moises Alou, 40, became the oldest player since Paul Molitor in 1998 to successfully steal home, Wednesday, Sept. 27, against the Arizona Diamondbacks, according to Janie McCauley of the Associated Press. Molitor was 41 years, 270 days old when he accomplished the feat while playing for the Minnesota Twins.

The Minneapolis Star-Tribune's La Velle E. Neal III reports Minnesota Twins OF Torii Hunter wasn't thrilled with the selection of Joe Vavra as the team's new hitting coach, but Vavra is reaching out to Hunter to try and soothe differences. "Nothing against Joe, but I thought Paul Molitor or Don Baylor or someone who had done something in the game would help," Hunter said. "If you want to increase offense, you would want to do that. All I can do is voice my opinion."
