"I know I can hit (Gwynn) anywhere in the order and it doesn't really bother him," Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said. "He's not going to change. He's just going to hit. With `T', you get that."

"It's just to get him to hit," said manager Don Mattingly. "That's a drill I've done with a couple guys so they can see the ball travel. It helps find contact points. It controls where the ball is and you see where it travels - instant feedback." Gordon is not starting Wednesday, May 16.

"We can't throw him out there," Mattingly said. "He's got to be able to do some stuff before we can put him in the field. If it's another day-to-day, then we're starting to get into a few days down the road, see where we're at. We're hoping in a couple days."

Atlanta Braves C Brian McCann lined a shot back to the mound that grazed off Guerra's glove and face and everyone was safe. "He seems all right and they're doing a concussion test right now," said Dodgers manager Don Mattingly. "I'm worried about his health first and foremost." Guerra was unhurt by the play and after a couple of warmup tosses the game continued.

However, Mattingly said he hopes Braun wins his appeal process regarding a 50-game suspension for a positive test. "In the end, I hope the appeal it's something that was a mistake. I don't want to see anything bad come out of it for him," Mattingly said.

Eovaldi has about 30-35 innings remaining before the team will move him out of the rotation. Mattingly said it's likely Eovaldi will be replaced by John Ely.
