The Miami Marlins have not been active in searching for a manager to replace manager Ozzie Guillen so far, so it appears likely that Guillen will remain in the position for the 2013 season. As more time passes into the offseason, the greater the chance is for Guillen to keep his job. He has three years remaining on his contract and around $7.5 million.

Miami Marlins RP Heath Bell backtracked on comments he made criticizing manager Ozzie Guillen Tuesday, Sept. 25, saying he was misinterpreted. "I was never criticizing Ozzie," Bell said. "I don't think that's what I was doing on the radio. I was choosing my words kind of right. Apparently I didn't get it too right but the thing is I respect Ozzie as a manager."

Miami Marlins RP Heath Bell was critical of manager Ozzie Guillen during a radio interview Monday, Sept. 24. "It's hard to respect a guy that doesn't tell you the truth or doesn't tell you face to face," Bell said. "There's probably reasons why." Bell said he feels he hasn't had the chance to win the closing job back after performing well in the second half. Guillen stands by his decision to replace Bell in the ninth with RP Steve Cishek, but said that Bell will have the opportunity to win his job back next season.

Miami Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria refuted a report that said president of baseball operations Larry Beinfest would be fired and replaced by assistant general manager Dan Jennings. Loria did not say whether Beinfest or manager Ozzie Guillen would be retained.
