"I think I've been on the disabled list twice, with one of them being this year, in eight years. I've had, I think, 700 plate appearances more than once. I've played over 140 games four or five or six times. I take a lot of pride in being able to play and being healthy and my conditioning and how hard I train in the offseason," Holliday said. He said he is completely healthy this offseason.

X-rays were negative, and he's questionable for Game 7 Friday, Oct. 28.

He is just 3-for-18 in the World Series. "I think the biggest thing is he missed some at-bats leading up to the crunch and in the crunch, and all of a sudden it's the most pressure you've faced all year long," manager Tony La Russa told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. "I do think he's healthy right now. But he's trying to catch up."
