The Associated Press reports a chainsaw carving of former Buffalo Bills RB Thurman Thomas is missing from a parking lot across from Ralph Wilson Stadium. The statue was unveiled Sunday, Oct. 11. Therese Forton-Barnes, the project's creator, said the 8 1/2-foot status weighs more than 1,000 pounds and it took a crane to get it set up for the event Sunday. The statue was carved from a fallen pine.

Former NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue and former Dallas Cowboys WR Michael Irvin are finalists to be considered for election to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Other finalists include DE Fred Dean, DE Richard Dent, OG Russ Grimm, P Ray Guy, OG Gene Hickerson, OG Bob Kuechenberg, OL Bruce Matthews, WR Art Monk, WR Andre Reed, TE Charlie Sanders, LB Derrick Thomas, RB Thurman Thomas, LB Andre Tippett, CB Roger Wehrli and OT Gary Zimmerman. The Board of Selectors will meet Saturday, Feb. 3, to elect the Hall of Fame Class of 2007.

The Associated Press reports former Dallas Cowboys QB Troy Aikman and former NFL DE Reggie White have been chosen for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Other finalists include RB Thurman Thomas, QB Warren Moon, LB Derrick Thomas, LB Harry Carson, DE L.C. Greenwood, DE Claude Humphrey, OL Russ Grimm, OL Bob Kuechenberg, OL Gary Zimmerman, WR Michael Irvin, WR Art Monk, OT Rayfield Wright and coach/broadcaster John Madden. A 39-member panel will vote on the finalists. Candidates must get 80 percent of the vote to be elected with a minimum of three and a maximum of six getting in. Results of the voting will be announced Feb. 4.

The preliminary list of people eligible for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame has been revealed, according to the Associated Press. Players eligible for the first time include DE Reggie White, QB Warren Moon, QB Troy Aikman, RB Thurman Thomas, WR Andre Reed, and C Dermontti Dawson. The list also includes five former head coaches and 11 contributors, including league commissioner Paul Tagliabue and longtime owners Art Modell and Ralph Wilson.

John Oehser, of Colts.com, reports Indianapolis Colts general manager Bill Polian is very intrigued with the ability of rookie RB Anthony Davis, and even compares him to former Buffalo Bills RB Thurman Thomas, whom Polian drafted during his days in Buffalo. "We really liked him," Polian said. "He fits our style perfectly in terms of what we want our running back to do: catch the ball, get on the corner on the stretch play, hit the stretch play and go 100 miles an hour and run through tackles."
