Thu, 23 Nov 2017 12:50:25 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (non-injury) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 23.

Fantasy Tip: Gore has been receiving practices off during the season and should be able to play in Week 12. He has posted consistent numbers this season but has rushed for more than 60 yards only once in 10 games. Gore can be a flex option on some leagues but could also be benched if owners have better options available.

Colts | Frank Gore runs for 54 yards

Sun, 12 Nov 2017 15:09:08 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore rushed 17 times for 54 yards in Week 10 against the Pittsburgh Steelers and he added one reception for seven yards on his only target.

Fantasy Tip: Gore is 34 yards old and this is about what you can expect. He is averaging 3.1 yards per run over the past two games and he hasn't visited the end zone in seven games dating back to Week 3. At this point he should only be trusted as a RB3 or flex option for fantasy. Eventually the team might lean upon Marlon Mack more down the stretch. The Colts are off in Week 11.

Colts | Rest day for Frank Gore

Thu, 09 Nov 2017 14:10:23 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (rest) had his off day from practice Thursday, Nov. 9.

Fantasy Tip: At this point in the season and in Gore's career, he's becoming a fantasy afterthought. He receives a respectable amount of touches every game, but he's only scored twice and is averaging just 3.6 yards per carry. With Marlon Mack inevitably taking over, Gore is no more than a flex.

Colts | Frank Gore totals 77 scrimmage yards

Sun, 05 Nov 2017 15:12:07 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore rushed 17 times for 51 yards in Week 9 against the Houston Texans and he added three grabs for 26 yards on four targets.

Fantasy Tip: Gore only averaged 3.0 yards per carry, but rookie Marlon Mack was good for just 3.2 yards. Mack might get more of a look down the stretch at Gore's expense, but for right now the veteran remains clearly atop the depth chart. He had 20 total touches to nine for the rookie.

Fri, 03 Nov 2017 13:30:24 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 3, and is not on the injury report for Week 9.

Fantasy Tip: Gore has been consistent in his production this season but has not posted big numbers to this point. He could be a flex option in some deeper leagues, but owners likely have better options available to use in their lineups.

Colts | Frank Gore receives day off

Thu, 02 Nov 2017 12:37:36 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (non-injury) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 2.

Fantasy Tip: Gore has been receiving practices off each week but should be ready to play in Week 9. He is coming off his best game of the season in Week 8 and will continue to receive most of the carries for the Colts. He will be facing a tough Houston Texans defense this week but can be a flex option in deeper leagues.

Colts | Frank Gore drawing interest

Mon, 30 Oct 2017 18:38:09 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore could be dealt leading up to the trade deadline, as "at least two teams" have discussed the possibility of trading for him, according to a league source. Gore is in the final season of a three-year contract and a suitor would only be on the hook for $1.75 million of his salary for the second half of the campaign.

Fantasy Tip: If Gore were to be traded to a contending team, he'd most likely see a drop in his value, as he'd probably land in a spot that would see him become more of a part-time player. Even if he isn't traded, Gore's stock is clearly trending down with youngster Marlon Mack impressing as of late and getting more work as a result. Either way, his outlook isn't very promising for the second half.

Colts | Frank Gore totals 101 scrimmage yards

Sun, 29 Oct 2017 18:16:46 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore rushed 16 times for a season-high 82 yards in Week 8 against the Cincinnati Bengals and he added four catches for 19 yards on his four targets.

Fantasy Tip: It's the first time Gore cracked triple digits in total scrimmage yardages this season, although he failed to score for the fifth consecutive game. He took advantage of the sloppy conditions in Cincinnati with his team using a run-heavy offense. The Colts will head to Houston in Week 9, so continue to treat him more as a RB3 or flex fantasy play in most formats.

Fri, 27 Oct 2017 15:00:19 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 27, and is not on the injury report for Week 8.

Fantasy Tip: Gore has posted consistent numbers so far this season but has rushed for more than 50 yards in only one game this season. He could be a flex option in some leagues because of all of the teams on bye, but owners can bench him if they have better options.

Colts | Frank Gore rests Thursday

Thu, 26 Oct 2017 12:41:56 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (rest) was given the day off of practice Thursday, Oct. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Gore is slowly but surely and involuntarily handing over the backfield reins to talented rookie Marlon Mack. Over the last four games Gore has averaged 11.25 carries for 44.25 yards and zero touchdowns. That's worse than Jonathan Stewart, people. The veteran can't be viewed as more than a flex, if that.

Colts | Frank Gore struggles in shutout loss

Sun, 22 Oct 2017 15:45:31 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore rushed nine times for 34 yards in Week 7 against the Jacksonville Jaguars and he did not have a reception.

Fantasy Tip: The Colts got away from the run game with a lopsided score on the board so it was a disappointing day for Gore and his fantasy owners. He'll look to rebound in Week 8 against the Cincinnati Bengals, but treat him as more of a RB3 or flex play for that one.

Fri, 20 Oct 2017 14:04:43 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 20, and is not on the injury report for Week 7.

Fantasy Tip: Gore will be sharing work with Marlon Mack this week but should continue to receive a majority of the work. He has posted consistent numbers this season but has not rushed for more than 60 yards in any game and is not a must-start option for owners.

Colts | Frank Gore likes RB combo

Thu, 19 Oct 2017 19:05:52 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore said he and RB Marlon Mack complement each other well because they are "different kinds of backs."

Fantasy Tip: The Colts face a leaky Jacksonville Jaguars run defense in Week 7, but Gore and Mack are merely flex candidates. Gore has the safer floor, but Mack is the upside play and the better long-term prospect.

Colts | Frank Gore receives day off

Thu, 19 Oct 2017 14:22:03 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (non-injury) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 19.

Fantasy Tip: Gore will continue to be the starting running back for the Colts but could lose some work to Marlon Mack later in the season. He has received at least 10 carries in every game this season but 57 yards is the most he has rushed for in a game this season. He can be benched this week if owners have better options available.

Colts | Another unspectacular outing from Frank Gore

Mon, 16 Oct 2017 22:06:38 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore logged 49 rushing yards on 10 carries in the team's Week 6 game Monday, Oct. 16, against the Tennessee Titans. He also caught two of his three targets for 18 yards.

Fantasy Tip: It wasn't exactly a dud of a performance, as Gore did total 67 yards collectively, but it wasn't anything special either, which has become typical for the former 49er. Gore probably deserved more work, given his 4.9 yards-per-carry average, but the Titans fell behind early in the fourth and went with their passing game more as a result. He's still a decent FLEX option for most formats, but he can be more impactful once Andrew Luck (shoulder) gets back.

Colts | Frank Gore receives day off

Fri, 13 Oct 2017 13:23:30 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (non-injury) did not participate in practice Friday, Oct. 13.

Fantasy Tip: Gore will remain the starting running back for now but may lose more touches to Marlon Mack as the season goes on. He has been consistent in terms of his stats but has rushed for more than 50 yards in only one game this season. He could be a flex option in some leagues, but is not a weekly starting option.

Colts | Frank Gore totals 86 yards

Sun, 08 Oct 2017 19:35:07 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore rushed 14 times for 48 yards in Week 5 against the San Francisco 49ers and he added three grabs for 38 yards on four targets.

Fantasy Tip: Gore was stuck mostly in neutral if you take out his big run of 16 yards, which is likely why Marlon Mack saw 10 total touches. The rookie out of South Florida was more explosive. It's a situation worth monitoring heading into Week 6 and beyond.

Colts | Frank Gore has rest day at practice

Thu, 05 Oct 2017 17:41:59 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (rest) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 5.

Fantasy Tip: It's just a rest day for the 34-year-old. While it might be tempting riding Gore as a FLEX option against his old team, the fact remains he hasn't done much in this mostly lackluster offense. In fact, he's averaging a lowly 3.1 yards per carry while totaling less than 50 yards per ballgame. The Colts offense has been sluggish without Andrew Luck (shoulder) and that figures to continue against a tough San Francisco defense.

Colts | Frank Gore totals 80 scrimmage yards

Sun, 01 Oct 2017 21:09:33 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore rushed 12 times for 46 yards in Week 4 against the Seattle Seahawks and he added three receptions for 34 yards.

Fantasy Tip: It was a pretty decent showing for the aging tailback against a hungry and still very talented defense. Gore will get a chance to shine next weekend against the visiting 49ers, his former team.

Fri, 29 Sep 2017 16:27:39 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (non-injury) fully participated in practice and is not on the injury report for Week 4.

Fantasy Tip: Gore will continue to receive a majority of the carries even though he has rushed for only 145 yards in three games. He will be facing a Seattle Seahawks run defense that has struggled at times this season but should only be considered a flex option in most leagues.

Colts | Frank Gore has day off

Thu, 28 Sep 2017 13:58:49 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (rest) did not practice Thursday, Sept. 28.

Fantasy Tip: This is a game that does not bode well for Gore on paper, or any Colts for that matter. They'll be playing in one of the toughest environments in the NFL on the road versus the Seattle Seahawks and they could be forced to pass early and often if they fall behind. Gore is a flex at best in Week 4.

Colts | Frank Gore rushes 25 times in win

Sun, 24 Sep 2017 14:09:08 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore ran 25 times for 57 yards and a touchdown in Week 3 against the Browns.

Fantasy Tip: The old man was busy, but he averaged just 2.3 yards per carry. Add in the fact he had a 21-yard rush amongst that production and you can see he was stuffed or went backward on most of his attempts. That should give Gore's fantasy owners pause heading into Week 4 at Seattle against a stiff defense.

Fantasy Tip: Gore has been receiving days off during practice but will receive his usual workload this week against the Cleveland Browns. Colts | Frank Gore leads Colts rushers in Week 2

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 15:22:02 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore rushed 14 times for 46 yards Sunday, Sept. 17, in a 16-13 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

Fantasy Tip: Gore seems to be stuck in neutral when it comes to carries and yards. Gore remains a decent flex option, but the lack of explosiveness makes it difficult for Indy to mount a respectable running game.

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 15, and is not on the injury report for Week 2.

Fantasy Tip: Gore rushed for 42 yards in Week 1 but should receive more carries this week with Jacoby Brissett expected to start at quarterback. Gore is not must-start fantasy player every week but could be a flex option in most leagues.

Colts | Frank Gore rests Thursday

Thu, 14 Sep 2017 14:26:08 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (rest) did not practice Thursday, Sept. 14.

Fantasy Tip: The lack of a viable passing game in Indianapolis right now is clearly hurting Gore, not to mention the up-and-coming rookie Marlon Mack. Between those two factors and Gore's inevitable decline, he's a flex at best for Week 2.

Fantasy Tip: Gore likely will receive most of the work at running back in Week 1 and could be asked to do more than usual with Scott Tolzien starting. He has been a decent fantasy option over the years and is still a flex option in most leagues.

Colts | Frank Gore takes day off

Thu, 07 Sep 2017 14:31:09 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (rest) was given the day off from practice Thursday, Sept. 7.

Fantasy Tip: The Indianapolis offense is not nearly what it can be with Andrew Luck, so expectations should be tempered this week. Gore can be started as a low-end RB2 or flex, however, against a Los Angeles Rams defense that will be without run stuffer Aaron Donald.

Colts | Frank Gore has ankle ailment

Mon, 31 Jul 2017 13:06:12 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (ankle) was limited in practice Monday, July 31, with a minor ankle injury, according to head coach Chuck Pagano.

Fantasy Tip: The injury doesn't sound too alarming. At 34 years old, the Colts will limit Gore's workload in camp and during the preseason. He's a low-end RB2 to high-end RB3 option in 2017.

Colts | Frank Gore holding off Father Time

Sat, 22 Jul 2017 09:35:29 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore, who turned 34 in May, finished with 66.2 percent of the team's carries in 2015 and 64.5 percent of the team's rushing attempts in 2016.

Fantasy Tip: Gore ranks 10th all-time with 2,965 carries and should move up to fifth on the list with another season's worth of rushing attempts. It's a nice way of saying he's nearing the end of his career, but he remains productive - albeit somewhat inefficient - due to his superior fitness and training. Backup Robert Turbin has reportedly had a great spring and rookie Marlon Mack appears to be the future at the position, so expect Gore to be a low-end RB2 at best in 2017.

Colts | Frank Gore still the lead back

Thu, 15 Jun 2017 18:19:28 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore is still expected to remain the "workhorse" back this season and see around 16 to 18 carries per game, according to Mike Chappell of CBS 4 Indianapolis.

Fantasy Tip: Gore isn't flashy, but as long as he seeing a bulk of the carries for the Colts, he is going to remain a dependable flex option with RB2 upside against weaker opponents.

Colts | Frank Gore makes NFL history

Sun, 01 Jan 2017 16:34:23 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore rushed 16 times for 62 yards in the Week 17 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, becoming the fourth player in NFL history to top 1,000 yards at age 33 or older. He is the oldest since former Washington Redskins RB John Riggins achieved the feat in 1984, and first 1,000-yard rusher for the team since RB Joseph Addai in 2007.

Fantasy Tip: Gore's career is winding down, but he showed he can still be trusted for fantasy purposes. If he plays in 2017 and is the starter, he will be a decent low-end RB2 or flex fantasy play again.

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (rest) was a full participant in practice for the second straight day Friday, Dec. 30.

Fantasy Tip: More of the usual from Gore, who consistently sits out on Wednesdays before logging full practices on Thursday and Friday. As has typically been the case with him this season, he'll be in the RB2 conversation, but don't be surprised if he sees some of his workload scaled back in the Colts' meaningless Week 17 finale.

Colts | Frank Gore full go

Thu, 29 Dec 2016 14:10:30 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (rest) participated fully in practice Thursday, Dec. 29.

Fantasy Tip: Gore is only 34 yards away from eclipsing the 1,000-yard mark. He played well versus the Jacksonville Jaguars in their first outing of the season, too, making Gore an RB2 candidate.

Colts | Frank Gore resting

Wed, 28 Dec 2016 14:40:57 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (rest) did not practice Wednesday, Dec. 28.

Fantasy Tip: The Jacksonville Jaguars have not been good this year, but their rush defense has been somewhat of a silver lining. However, when Gore played them earlier this year he tallied 95 total yards and a touchdown. View him as an RB2 for the final week of the season.
