Dolphins | Frank Gore will be limited

Wed, 23 May 2018 18:03:30 -0700

Miami Dolphins RB Frank Gore likely will not participate in many team drills during offseason workouts, according to head coach Adam Gase.

Fantasy Tip: The team probably wants to keep Gore fresh for the regular season, so Kenyan Drake should receive plenty of work during workouts. Gore will share playing time with Drake but could see a majority of the carries. Gore has a chance to be a No. 3 or No. 4 back for fantasy owners.

Thu, 22 Mar 2018 14:23:39 -0700

Updating a previous report, Miami Dolphins RB Frank Gore's one-year contract is worth $1.105 million, but Gore will only count $720,000 against the salary cap.

Dolphins | Miami adding Frank Gore

Thu, 22 Mar 2018 13:04:24 -0700

Free-agent RB Frank Gore (Colts) agreed to terms on a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins Thursday, March 22, according to a source. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Fantasy Tip: Gore likely will serve as a backup to Kenyan Drake in 2018 but could receive some touches during games. He may be a late-round pick in deeper standard leagues but proobably will not be a big factor for owners.

Dolphins | Frank Gore visiting Dolphins

Thu, 22 Mar 2018 05:50:16 -0700

Free-agent RB Frank Gore (Colts) is visiting the Miami Dolphins Thursday, March 22.

Fantasy Tip: Gore can still be useful in fantasy if he receives volume carries. He might top out as an RB3, but there isn't a lot of upside.

Lions | Detroit working on deal with Frank Gore

Wed, 14 Mar 2018 18:52:16 -0700

Free-agent RB Frank Gore (Colts) is close to reaching a contract agreement with Detroit Lions, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Gore is one of several veteran running backs that the Lions have met with this offseason. He could receive most of the carries if he joined the Lions but would have to share work with Theo Riddick and Ameer Abdullah. Gore could be a No. 3 running back in standard leagues if the deal is finalized.

Lions | Frank Gore set to visit Motor City

Tue, 13 Mar 2018 19:45:47 -0700

Free-agent RB Frank Gore (Colts) is scheduled to visit with the Detroit Lions later this week, according to NFL Network's Aditi Kinkhabwala.

Fantasy Tip: The Lions currently have mostly perimeter runners/passing-down back occupying the top spots on their running back depth chart in Ameer Abdullah and Theo Riddick, so securing an inside-the-tackles back makes a ton of sense despite the fact Gore will turn 35 in May. With that said, Gore is clearly on his last legs and would be a flex option at best in Detroit.

Colts | Frank Gore looking to join contender

Wed, 07 Mar 2018 14:37:51 -0800

Indianapolis Colts impending free-agent RB Frank Gore would like to sign with a contender this offseason and wants to be a starter or a significant contributor for a team since he believes he probably has only one more season left, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Gore has been a solid running back for the last several seasons, but it is not known if he will be able to find a starting job in free agency. He can be a No. 3 fantasy running back in standard leagues if he receives a solid role with a team.

Colts | Frank Gore won't return to Indy

Thu, 01 Mar 2018 05:07:15 -0800

Updating previous reports, Indianapolis Colts impending free-agent RB Frank Gore was informed by general manager Chris Ballard that he won't be re-signed by the Colts.

Fantasy Tip: He turns 35 in May, and he could still be useful in a smaller role on a team. He cleared 100 yards in two of his last four games and could serve as fantasy depth at the position.

Colts | Frank Gore all but officially out the door

Wed, 28 Feb 2018 12:10:18 -0800

Updating previous reports, Indianapolis Colts impending free-agent RB Frank Gore is unlikely to return. Indy Star writer Zak Keefer said Colts head coach Frank Reich "all but confirms the Colts are moving on from Gore" after Reich fielded questions Wednesday, Feb. 28, at the 2018 Scouting Combine.

Fantasy Tip: No surprise here. Gore turns 35 this year and will be used only in select situations, provided he is even able to find a 2018 home. He is no more than fantasy roster depth.

Colts | Frank Gore unlikely to be re-signed

Wed, 21 Feb 2018 12:12:19 -0800

Indianapolis Colts impending free-agent RB Frank Gore is not expected to be re-signed. Gore will turn 35 years old this offseason but still wants to play. He is just 75 yards shy of reaching fourth on the NFL's all-time rushing list.

Fantasy Tip: Gore is nearing the end of his road in the NFL, but he's not completely washed up. At worst he can be used in short-yardage and goal-line situations. That being said, he is at best a late-round flex for fantasy purposes, wherever he plays.

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 29, and is not on the injury report for Week 17.

Fantasy Tip: Gore has been a decent option for fantasy owners this season and can be a flex option in standard leagues this week against the Houston Texans.

Thu, 28 Dec 2017 13:45:34 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (non-injury) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 28.

Fantasy Tip: Gore has been receiving practices off throughout the season and will be fine for Week 17. He has posted consistent numbers so far this season and could be a flex option for owners in standard leagues.

Colts | Frank Gore discusses his future

Wed, 27 Dec 2017 11:28:29 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore told reporters Wednesday, Dec. 27, that it will be "possible" for him to return to the team in 2018 if Andrew Luck is healthy.

Fantasy Tip: Gore will be a free agent after the season and turn 35 in May, so it is unclear if he will return even if he wants to do so. The Colts drafted Marlon Mack with the hope he would become their future at the position, and while his rookie season has been an adventure, he has given Indianapolis reason to believe he should be able to serve as a lead back at the very least. In Week 17 against the Houston Texans, Gore figures to be a volume-based RB2 for fantasy purposes.

Colts | Frank Gore close to milestone

Tue, 26 Dec 2017 15:50:09 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore must rush for 139 yards in Week 17 to reach 1,000 rushing yards on the season. If he does reach 1,000 yards it will be the tenth time in his career he has reached the 1,000-yard mark in his career.

Fantasy Tip: Gore is an iron man. While his production has decreased as he has aged, he has not missed a game since 2011. As incredible as his longevity has been, the fact that he will be 35 years old next season makes him a risky draftee in what will be his 14th season.

Colts | Frank Gore has good matchup

Tue, 26 Dec 2017 06:36:39 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore has a good matchup against the Houston Texans in Week 17 as the Texans have allowed the most points to the position over the last five weeks.

Fantasy Tip: Gore had 68 yards on 17 carries and two catches for 18 yards and a score in Week 16. He has just four touchdowns on the season, though, and that will limit his upside. He's a low-end RB2 for the finale.

Colts | Frank Gore reaches end zone

Sat, 23 Dec 2017 16:36:12 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore rushed for 68 yards on 17 carries against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 16. He also caught two passes for 18 yards and one touchdown during the game.

Fantasy Tip: Gore has been pretty consistent in terms of his rushing yards this season but has been involved in the passing game over the last few weeks. He be considered a flex option in deeper leagues next week.

Colts | Frank Gore given day off

Wed, 20 Dec 2017 14:46:21 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (rest) was given his usual day off of practice Wednesday, Dec. 20.

Fantasy Tip: Gore needs to average just over 103 rushing yards in the Colts' final two games in order to reach the 1,000-yard rushing plateau. He's only eclipsed 100 yards in a game once this year, so don't count on him to reach that feat. That said, he's a desperation flex in fantasy title games.

Colts | Frank Gore totals 68 yards on TNF

Thu, 14 Dec 2017 22:00:30 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore gained 31 yards on 10 carries and added three receptions for 37 yards against the Denver Broncos in Week 15.

Fantasy Tip: Maybe we shouldn't be surprised that the 34-year-old was worn down after carrying the ball 36 times just four days earlier. It promises to be tough going again in Week 16 against a stout Baltimore Ravens defense, leaving Gore as an RB3 or flex option with a pretty low ceiling.

Colts | Frank Gore off the injury report

Wed, 13 Dec 2017 13:32:01 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (rest, hand) was able to practice in full Wednesday, Dec. 13, and he has been removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 15 game against the Denver Broncos on Thursday, Dec. 14.

Fantasy Tip: Gore will be facing the league's third-ranked rush defense, as Denver allows just 89.5 yards per game on the ground with six rushing touchdowns and seven runs of 20 or more yards. The six TDs are tied for second-lowest in the NFL. Treat Gore more as a RB3 or flex play in Week 15.

Colts | Frank Gore sits Tuesday

Tue, 12 Dec 2017 15:39:08 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (rest, hand) was held out of practice Tuesday, Dec. 12.

Fantasy Tip: Gore saw a season-high 36 carries in Week 14 in the snowstorm versus the Buffalo Bills. It's hard for any running back to be effective after a workload like that, much less a 34-year-old on a short week. Gore can't be viewed as more than a flex.

Colts | Frank Gore takes part in practice

Mon, 11 Dec 2017 15:16:21 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (hand) fully participated in practice Monday, Dec. 11.

Fantasy Tip: Gore received a lot of carries in Week 14 and was able to record his first 100-yard game of the season. He will continue to be a big part of the Colts offense and could be a flex option in deeper standard leagues.

Colts | Frank Gore plays well in Week 14

Sun, 10 Dec 2017 14:14:37 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore rushed for 130 yards on 36 carries against the Buffalo Bills in Week 14. He also caught one pass for 10 yards during the game.

Fantasy Tip: Gore was the major part of the Colts offense this week because of the weather conditions and made the most out of his opportunity. He will continue to receive a solid amount of carries and can be a flex option in some deeper leagues.

Colts | Frank Gore back at practice

Fri, 08 Dec 2017 13:20:16 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (rest) returned to practice and was a full participant Friday, Dec. 8. He has been removed from the injury report for Week 14 against the Buffalo Bills.

Fantasy Tip: Gore received a recovery day, which isn't unusual for veterans. He'll be a decent RB3 or flex option against the Bills. Buffalo ranks 25th in the NFL against the rush, allowing 120.4 yards per game while yielding an NFL-high 18 rushing touchdowns.

Milton is listed as questionable for Week 14 against the Buffalo Bills while the others have been ruled out. OT Denzelle Good (illness) and C Mike Person (ankle) were limited in practice and are listed as questionable, while RB Frank Gore (rest), DT Johnathan Hankins (chest), C Ryan Kelly (concussion) and DT Hasaan Ridgeway (shoulder) practiced in full and were removed from the report.

Colts | Frank Gore receives day off

Thu, 07 Dec 2017 14:51:40 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (non-injury) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 7.

Fantasy Tip: Gore has been receiving days off during the season but has been able to play every game. Owners should know what to expect if they start Gore because he has been pretty consistent in terms of his yards this season. He could be a flex option for owners on standard leagues.

Colts | Frank Gore runs for 61 yards

Sun, 03 Dec 2017 19:14:39 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore rushed 13 times for 61 yards in Week 13 against the Jacksonville Jaguars and he did not have any receptions or targets.

Fantasy Tip: Gore continues to see a healthy amount of touches, and his 4.7 yards per rush were his most in four games. However, he is starting to look like a 34-year-old running back on the downside of his career, and the leaky offensive line is not helping. He is nothing more as a RB3 or flex fantasy play at this point.

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 1, and is not on the injury report for Week 13.

Fantasy Tip: Gore rushed for his first touchdown for the first time in eight games but has rushed for at least 65 yards in only one game this season. He could be a flex option in deeper standard leagues but can also be benched if owners have better options.

Colts | Frank Gore rests Thursday

Thu, 30 Nov 2017 13:10:16 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (rest) was held out of practice Thursday, Nov. 30.

Fantasy Tip: Gore turned in one of his best performances of the year last week with 79 total yards and a touchdown. However, he is still averaging 3.5 yards per carry on the year and has yet to surpass 100 rushing yards in a game. Gore is a flex at best.

Colts | Frank Gore finally back in end zone

Sun, 26 Nov 2017 15:12:13 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore rushed 17 times for 62 yards and a touchdown in the Week 12 game against the Tennessee Titans and he added two receptions for 17 yards on five targets.

Fantasy Tip: Gore rushed for a touchdown for the first time since Week 3 against the Browns after being blanked in each of the past seven outings. He should hang onto the starting job for the balance of the season, though, as Marlon Mack had a costly miscue on a pitch from Jacoby Brissett late which cost the Colts the game.

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 24, and is not on the injury report for Week 12.

Colts | Frank Gore off Thursday

Thu, 23 Nov 2017 12:50:25 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (non-injury) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 23.

Fantasy Tip: Gore has been receiving practices off during the season and should be able to play in Week 12. He has posted consistent numbers this season but has rushed for more than 60 yards only once in 10 games. Gore can be a flex option on some leagues but could also be benched if owners have better options available.

Colts | Frank Gore runs for 54 yards

Sun, 12 Nov 2017 15:09:08 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore rushed 17 times for 54 yards in Week 10 against the Pittsburgh Steelers and he added one reception for seven yards on his only target.

Fantasy Tip: Gore is 34 yards old and this is about what you can expect. He is averaging 3.1 yards per run over the past two games and he hasn't visited the end zone in seven games dating back to Week 3. At this point he should only be trusted as a RB3 or flex option for fantasy. Eventually the team might lean upon Marlon Mack more down the stretch. The Colts are off in Week 11.

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 10, and is not on the injury report for Week 10.

Fantasy Tip: Gore continues to be main threat in the running game for the Colts but has rushed for at least 60 yards in only one game this season. Gore can be a flex option in deeper leagues but is not a must-start option for owners.

Colts | Rest day for Frank Gore

Thu, 09 Nov 2017 14:10:23 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (rest) had his off day from practice Thursday, Nov. 9.

Fantasy Tip: At this point in the season and in Gore's career, he's becoming a fantasy afterthought. He receives a respectable amount of touches every game, but he's only scored twice and is averaging just 3.6 yards per carry. With Marlon Mack inevitably taking over, Gore is no more than a flex.

Colts | Frank Gore totals 77 scrimmage yards

Sun, 05 Nov 2017 15:12:07 -0800

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore rushed 17 times for 51 yards in Week 9 against the Houston Texans and he added three grabs for 26 yards on four targets.

Fantasy Tip: Gore only averaged 3.0 yards per carry, but rookie Marlon Mack was good for just 3.2 yards. Mack might get more of a look down the stretch at Gore's expense, but for right now the veteran remains clearly atop the depth chart. He had 20 total touches to nine for the rookie.

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 3, and is not on the injury report for Week 9.

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (non-injury) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 2.

Fantasy Tip: Gore has been receiving practices off each week but should be ready to play in Week 9. He is coming off his best game of the season in Week 8 and will continue to receive most of the carries for the Colts. He will be facing a tough Houston Texans defense this week but can be a flex option in deeper leagues.

Colts | Frank Gore drawing interest

Mon, 30 Oct 2017 18:38:09 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore could be dealt leading up to the trade deadline, as "at least two teams" have discussed the possibility of trading for him, according to a league source. Gore is in the final season of a three-year contract and a suitor would only be on the hook for $1.75 million of his salary for the second half of the campaign.

Fantasy Tip: If Gore were to be traded to a contending team, he'd most likely see a drop in his value, as he'd probably land in a spot that would see him become more of a part-time player. Even if he isn't traded, Gore's stock is clearly trending down with youngster Marlon Mack impressing as of late and getting more work as a result. Either way, his outlook isn't very promising for the second half.

Colts | Frank Gore totals 101 scrimmage yards

Sun, 29 Oct 2017 18:16:46 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore rushed 16 times for a season-high 82 yards in Week 8 against the Cincinnati Bengals and he added four catches for 19 yards on his four targets.

Fantasy Tip: It's the first time Gore cracked triple digits in total scrimmage yardages this season, although he failed to score for the fifth consecutive game. He took advantage of the sloppy conditions in Cincinnati with his team using a run-heavy offense. The Colts will head to Houston in Week 9, so continue to treat him more as a RB3 or flex fantasy play in most formats.

Fri, 27 Oct 2017 15:00:19 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 27, and is not on the injury report for Week 8.

Fantasy Tip: Gore has posted consistent numbers so far this season but has rushed for more than 50 yards in only one game this season. He could be a flex option in some leagues because of all of the teams on bye, but owners can bench him if they have better options.

Colts | Frank Gore rests Thursday

Thu, 26 Oct 2017 12:41:56 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (rest) was given the day off of practice Thursday, Oct. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Gore is slowly but surely and involuntarily handing over the backfield reins to talented rookie Marlon Mack. Over the last four games Gore has averaged 11.25 carries for 44.25 yards and zero touchdowns. That's worse than Jonathan Stewart, people. The veteran can't be viewed as more than a flex, if that.

Colts | Frank Gore struggles in shutout loss

Sun, 22 Oct 2017 15:45:31 -0700

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore rushed nine times for 34 yards in Week 7 against the Jacksonville Jaguars and he did not have a reception.

Fantasy Tip: The Colts got away from the run game with a lopsided score on the board so it was a disappointing day for Gore and his fantasy owners. He'll look to rebound in Week 8 against the Cincinnati Bengals, but treat him as more of a RB3 or flex play for that one.
