Orioles | Adam Jones about to make history

With his next home run, Baltimore Orioles OF Adam L. Jones will have 30 for the season. He would become the sixth Orioles outfielder to hit 30 or more in a season, joining Brady Anderson (50 in 1996), Albert Belle (37 in 1999), Ken Singleton (32 in 1979), Boog Powell (39 in 1964) and Frank Robinson (49 in 1966, 30 in 1967 and 32 in 1969). His 29 homers are the second-most by a center fielder in Orioles history behind Anderson.

Indians | Albert Belle reconnects with team

Former Cleveland Indians OF Albert Belle was at the team's spring training complex Tuesday, Feb. 28, reconnecting with members of the 1995 team. He was a controversial figure after leaving in free agency for the Chicago White Sox in 1996. "I thought the fences were already mended," Belle said. "That was a long time ago. That's the thing about free agency. It can create some bad feelings. I would have loved to play with these guys (Sandy Alomar Jr., Carlos Baerga and Kenny Lofton) another five to 10 years. It didn't work out that way. But we've all gone on to have some success."

The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Paul Hoynes reports former MLB OF Albert Belle said he never took steroids in his career. "No, I was just an angry black man," Belle said. "I didn't need to. All you have to do is check the trainers' weight charts. Every year I'd come to camp weighing 225 to 230 and end the season at about 215 to 220."

The Associated Press reports retired OF Albert Belle was arrested on a new stalking charge for allegedly making phone calls to a woman he was already charged with harassing. The 39-year-old former baseball star was arrested by Scottsdale, Ariz., police at his home Wednesday after they investigated new allegations that he made calls to his ex-girlfriend, Sgt. Mark Clark said. Belle is set for a court appearance Thursday in Scottsdale.

The Associated Press reports former MLB OF Albert Belle tracked his ex-girlfriend with a GPS device and repeatedly threatened her, according to a police probable cause statement filed in support of stalking charges. He made an initial court appearance late Thursday, and a judge set bail at $108,000, ordered him to be electronically monitored and to stay away from the victim.

The Associated Press reports former major-league OF Albert Belle was arrested and charged with stalking his ex-girlfriend. Scottsdale, Ariz., police said Belle was taken into custody after a former girlfriend told officers that he had stalked her. Belle was being held without bond at the Maricopa County Jail in Phoenix, according to a county sheriff's department spokesman.
