Updating previous reports, ESPN.comís Len Pasquarelli reports C Jeff Smithís deal with the Tennessee Titans breaks down as follows: Heíll have a $700,000 base salary in 2002 and did not receive a signing bonus. The team can exercise a $750,000 option next spring and Smithís base salaries for the deal are $655,000 (2003), $900,000 (2004) and $1.1 million (2005). There are roster bonuses of $125,000 each for 2004 and 2005.

The Tennessean reports the Tennessee Titans looked at free agent C Bubba Miller before he signed with New Orleans and before they signed Jeff Smith. Titans team doctors checked on Miller's broken ankle and told Miller to come back in a couple of weeks to be re-evaluated. Miller did not want to wait so he signed with the Saints. Miller said he expects to be ready for training camp in July but still has several weeks of rehab left.

Updating previous reports, the Tennessean reports Tennessee Titans C Jeff Smith is expected to arrive in town on Sunday evening. If he signs his contract as expected, he would then take part in Monday morning's workouts with the team. The two sides agreed to terms on a four-year deal on Tuesday and it has does not include a signing bonus. He'll have a $700,000 base salary this year.

ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports the Tennessee Titans finally officially added free agent C Jeff Smith (Jaguars) on Friday. He signed a one-year deal with three option years. He's expected to vie for the starting center position. The deal is worth about $1.1 million per year.
