St. Louis Cardinals SP Adam Wainwright (elbow) will not make his start Monday, June 16, due to precautionary reasons. Wainwright said he threw Saturday, June 14, and felt significantly better than he did earlier in the week.
Fantasy Tip: There isn't a whole lot to worry about, as it's been previously stated the injury in on the top side of his elbow - away from the ligaments. If he doesn't improve by the middle part of next week, we could see a disabled list stint. However, that doesn't appear likely for now.

St. Louis Cardinals SP Adam Wainwright (elbow) isn't ruling out starting Monday, June 16, and he believes his ligament is strong. Wainwright will throw Saturday, June 14.
Fantasy Tip: Wainwright isn't 100 percent, so a trip to the disabled list could be the best thing in the long term. Although, the injury doesn't sound too serious, fantasy owners should be proactive and begin scouting short-term replacements.

An MRI exam showed that St. Louis Cardinals SP Adam Wainwright (elbow) has no structural damage in his right elbow Wednesday, June 11. General manager John Mozeliak said that Wainwright experienced soreness similar to "tennis elbow," during his start and win over the Tampa Bay Rays Tuesday, June 10. Wainwright is currently 9-3 with a 2.15 ERA in 14 starts this year.
Fantasy Tip: Wainwright dodged a huge bullet, but he may not be out of the woods completely yet. He's thrown a ton of innings in recent seasons and could need a break or even a DL stint if things get worse.

St. Louis Cardinals SP Adam Wainwright tossed another seven shutout innings against the Tampa Bay Rays Tuesday, June 10, but he didn't have nearly his best stuff on the mound, and he's been fighting through cold-like allergies and a stuffed head for the last month. "My two-seamer was OK. My cutter was OK. My curveball was not very good. My fastball was not great, really," Wainwright listed. "Command was not as good as it has been. But it wasn't terrible. You've got to find ways to get outs sometimes."
