Colts | More on Reggie Wayne

Thu, 19 Jun 2014 14:42:55 -0700

Updating a previous report, Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne (knee) feels like he's 100 percent healthy after recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee last season. His most recent visit with Dr. John Uribe showed no fluid in his surgically repaired knee. Wayne has been running routes at the team's facility. "I feel like I have nothing to prove to anybody," Wayne said. "I know what I can do. Guys in this locker room know what I can do. Now it's time to show the first-timers who have not seen me play, the ones that keep calling me Mr. Wayne, ones that say they played with me on 'Madden.' There's no reason why I shouldn't be ready (for training camp) in July."

Fantasy Tip: Wayne has always been a productive player when he's been on the field. However, he's entering his age-36 season, and Andrew Luck has plenty of other receiving weapons to go to. Even if he proves his doubters wrong by coming back fully healthy, he'll have to compete for targets with budding superstar T.Y. Hilton and offseason addition Hakeem Nicks. Wayne's PPR value will likely take a significant hit, and all things considered, he's probably safest as a WR4.

Colts | Reggie Wayne says he's ready

Thu, 19 Jun 2014 12:15:56 -0700

Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne (knee) recently said he has no problems with his surgically repaired right knee. He added that he's waiting until he's told he can suit up and "be a normal football player." Wayne did not participate in the team's mandatory minicamp, as expected, and head coach Chuck Pagano said he may be held out for the early part of training camp in July.

Fantasy Tip: Even though Wayne is coming off a serious injury, we'll give him the benefit of the doubt, because he's always been productive when healthy. But the Colts have plenty of other options in the passing game besides Wayne. He could be a solid WR3, but pegging him for WR4 numbers is probably more realistic right now.

Colts | Reggie Wayne not practicing

Thu, 29 May 2014 11:18:44 -0700

Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne (knee) is not participating in practice Thursday, May 29.

Fantasy Tip: Wayne was not expected to get much work in during the offseason program, so this is not really a surprise. The goal is to be ready for training camp. We should have a better idea where the Colts wide receiver is in his recovery when teams report for training camp later in the summer.

Colts | Select Donte Moncrief 90th overall

Fri, 09 May 2014 19:48:45 -0700

The Indianapolis Colts selected Mississippi WR Donte Moncrief with the 90th overall selection in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Fantasy Tip: He's sort of a handcuff/heir apparent to injury-prone vet Hakeem Nicks. At 6-foot-2, 221 pounds, Moncrief could step in with big-play ability. He's someone to watch inseason during 2014 and for the long term, with Reggie Wayne (knee) not having much time left on the field.

Colts | Reggie Wayne ahead of schedule, expects to be cleared

Tue, 08 Apr 2014 16:33:11 -0700

Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne (knee) is expected to be cleared for football activities April 25 after he tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee in Week 7 last season. "I feel good, I'm ahead of schedule," Wayne said. "I'm at the point where I'm tired of doing the same rehab stuff, to be honest with you. I'm excited to get back to football activities. I feel good." Wayne wants to participate in the team's minicamp, but he'll be held out as a precaution.

Fantasy Tip: Wayne will be heading into his age-36 season. At that age and coming off a serious knee injury, you'd expect Wayne's production to drop considerably, especially with Hakeem Nicks and T.Y. Hilton around to take catches away from him. Wayne's days of serving as a WR1 or 2 are over.

Colts | Reggie Wayne should be ready for camp

Fri, 21 Feb 2014 18:45:43 -0800

Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano said WR Reggie Wayne (knee) is making progress in his rehab from a torn anterior cruciate ligament and should be ready to participate no later than training camp.

Fantasy Tip: Owners should monitor his rehab during the offseason to see if he suffers any setback. He should be a starting fantasy wide receiver next season if he is healthy.
