Chicago Cubs OF David DeJesus will earn $4.25 million next season and in 2013, and the Cubs will have a $6.5 million option for the 2014 season with a $1.5 million buyout.

The Chicago Cubs agreed to a two-year, $10 million deal with free-agent OF David DeJesus (Athletics) Wednesday, Nov. 30. The deal includes an option for a third season.

The Oakland Athletics are unlikely to re-sign OFs Josh Willingham, Coco Crisp and David DeJesus, which means they are likely to listen to all trade offers this winter. 2B Jemile Weeks is likely untouchable, however. The A's aren't currently shopping anyone, but they will listen on SPs Gio Gonzalez and Trevor Cahill and possibly even C Kurt Suzuki.

The Detroit Tigers will be searching for a leadoff man this offseason because they know OF Austin Jackson isn't the long-term answer there. Free-agent SS Jose Reyes (Mets) would be their dream candidate in the spot, but free-agent OF David DeJesus (Athletics) and 2B Kelly Johnson (Blue Jays) are other options.

Oakland Athletics OFs Josh Willingham, Coco Crisp, David DeJesus and Hideki Matsui will all become free agents this offseason. General manager Billy Beane would like to bring them all back but the market will determine whether they will have a chance to sign any of the players.
