Rays | David DeJesus sitting Thursday

Thu, 02 Jul 2015 08:54:07 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays OF David DeJesus is not in the starting lineup Thursday, July 2. OF Grady Sizemore is serving as the designated hitter and batting fourth against Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber.

Fantasy Tip: DeJesus has only 10 hits in his last 69 at-bats (.145) since the beginning of June with no home runs and five RBI. He's batting-average dependent and was due for regression. Sizemore ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) has a homer and four hits in his first 14 at-bats with the Rays, but he's about one of the weakest cleanup hitters you'll see in baseball and should be avoided on FantasyScore today against the Klubot.

Rays | David DeJesus out Tuesday

Tue, 23 Jun 2015 11:41:47 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays OF David DeJesus is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, June 23. OF Brandon Guyer is starting in left field and hitting seventh against Toronto Blue Jays SP R.A. Dickey.

Fantasy Tip: Guyer ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) is a sleeper pick for FantasyScore users against Dickey, who has bounced back in the month of June. Guyer is hitting .293 (17-for-58) off righties but has no homers and just three RBI against them, which limits his fantasy ceiling.

Rays | David DeJesus sitting vs. Nats

Thu, 18 Jun 2015 13:09:58 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays OF David DeJesus is not in the starting lineup against the Washington Nationals Thursday, June 18.

Fantasy Tip: Without the option to utilize a designated hitter, DeJesus ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is being relegated to the bench. He has a respectable .300/.356/.440 slash line against right-handed pitchers, and FantasyScore players can turn to him as a matchup value play against weak righties in the future. DeJesus should be left to deep mixed leagues in seasonal formats.

Rays | David DeJesus not in the lineup

Mon, 15 Jun 2015 11:11:46 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays OF David DeJesus is not in the starting lineup against Washington Nationals SP Gio Gonzalez Monday, June 15. OF Brandon Guyer will start in left field and is batting first in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: DeJesus ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) probably is sitting out because the team is facing a left-handed pitcher. Guyer ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) has picked up at least one hit in five of his last seven games and has two stolen bases in that span. Owners on FantasyScore could consider Guyer if they are looking to save some money.

Rays | David DeJesus out of the lineup

Sun, 14 Jun 2015 08:34:52 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays OF David DeJesus is not in the starting lineup against Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale Sunday, June 14. OF Joey Butler will start in left field and is batting second, while 2B Nick Franklin will be the designated hitter and is batting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: The Rays are facing a left-handed pitcher, which is likely why DeJesus ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) is out of the lineup. Butler ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) has at least one hit in 13 of his last 14 games and is a solid option on FantasyScore. Franklin ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) has recorded five hits in his last four games but is still batting only .143 this season and is not a great option.

Rays | David DeJesus hitting third

Sat, 06 Jun 2015 16:06:09 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays OF David DeJesus is hitting third Saturday, June 6, with 3B Evan Longoria sitting out.

Fantasy Tip: DeJesus ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) has been out of the lineup four straight games against lefties, and he draws King Felix tonight. He's hitting .333 (13-for-39) against him in his career, but he doesn't do a lot of damage. Ideally, we're passing on FantasyScore, but you can use him if you need the cheap flyer.

Rays | David DeJesus out vs. lefty

Tue, 02 Jun 2015 15:43:58 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays OF David DeJesus is not in the starting lineup against a left-handed pitcher Tuesday, June 2. OF Brandon Guyer is starting in left field and hitting leadoff against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SP C.J. Wilson.

Fantasy Tip: Guyer ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) does have both of his home runs and a .295 average (18-for-61) against left-handers this season, making him worth consideration as a sleeper pick to save money elsewhere on your lineup. However, Wilson is holding righties to a .250 average (44-for-176) this year, showing exactly why Guyer is more of a long shot to help win you money.

Rays | David DeJesus batting cleanup

Wed, 27 May 2015 07:33:58 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays OF David DeJesus is batting fourth and playing left field against the Seattle Mariners Wednesday, May 27.

Fantasy Tip: Typically, batting fourth would be an added incentive to take a speculative flier on DeJesus ($3,600, 7.2% of cap). However, facing ace Felix Hernandez mitigates the fantasy boost, and DeJesus should be viewed as a high-risk option in FantasyScore contests Wednesday.

Rays | David DeJesus has owned Kazmir

Fri, 22 May 2015 10:34:02 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays OF David DeJesus is 8-for-21 (.381) with two doubles and three RBI in his career against Oakland Athletics SP Scott Kazmir, who he faces Friday, May 22.

Fantasy Tip: DeJesus ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) has been hitting well this year (.324-4-18) and is in the midst of a seven-game hitting streak that has seen him go 10-for-25 (.400) with two home runs and five RBI. While he's going well, he is a fine FantasyScore play, and he could be a contrarian play tonight against the lefty Kazmir as a sleeper.
