Former MLB OF Luke Scott was fired by the SK Wyverns of the Korean League after an argument with his coach. Scott was placed on the injured list with plantar fasciitis and wasn't pleased with how the team was managing his injury.

In corresponding moves, RP Jesse Crain (shoulder) has been transferred from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list and RP Brandon Gomes (lat) has been activated from the 60-day disabled list.

The Minnesota Twins are prepared to trade 1B Justin Morneau by the non-waiver trade deadline, according to ESPN and MLB Network Radio's Jim Bowden. Bowden believes that the Tampa Bay Rays, Pittsburgh Pirates and New York Yankees are possible destinations for the former MVP.
