Mark Feinsand, of Yankees.MLB.com, reports former major-league infielder Luis Sojo, now a Yankees instructor, has emerged as a possible candidate for the team's final roster spot, heading into September. "I'm just another coach here. But if they asked me, I'd be ready," Sojo said. "You never know in this game." Yankees manager Joe Torre said he wouldn't discount the possibility of signing Sojo to play for the final month of the season.

Anthony Gagliano, writing for Yankees.MLB.com, reports the New York Yankees added former Yankees IF Luis Sojo as a special hitting instructor Wednesday, June 25. "I didn't hesitate," Sojo said. "When they asked me to come over, I said, 'Yes.' I'm excited to come back and do something different and help the guys out any way I can."
