The Seattle Post-Intelligencer's John Hickey reports the Seattle Mariners have re-instated minor-league 2B Evel Bastida-Martinez, who was suspended from the Inland Empire California League team at midseason after going after an opposing player with a bat during a game.

The Associated Press reports the Seattle Mariners suspended IF Evel Bastida who was playing at Single-A Inland, for the rest of the season and are contemplating releasing him after charging the mound and hitting the pitcher with a baseball bat. Bastida was fined an undisclosed amount by the California League and could face felony assault charges. Bastida was hit by a pitch and charged the mound and struck Lancaster P Josh Kranawetter in the back with the bat.
