Fri, 25 Jan 2008 14:32:15 -0800 The Associated Press reports Reginald Riddle, the man convicted of killing Cincinnati Reds prospect OF Dernell Stenson, has been sentenced to life in prison. A judge decided Stenson would be eligible for parole after 25 years.

Outfielder Ken Griffey Jr. was going to meet Kobe after arranging with the Hall of Fame to have Kobe throw out the first pitch.
Fri, 27 Jan 2006 11:09:21 -0800 The Associated Press reports one of the two men accused in the kidnapping and murder of Cincinnati Reds OF Dernell Stenson plead guilty to first-degree murder charges. Reginald Riddle, 21, agreed to the plea Thursday to avoid a possible death sentence. He agreed to testify in the trial of his co-defendant, David Griffith, 22, at his September trial. Riddle faces 25 years to life in prison, with or without the possibility of parole, when he is sentenced after Griffith's trial. Griffith still faces capital murder charges.

Detectives determined the two men accused of killing Stenson, Reginald Riddle of Illinois and David Griffith of Arizona's Salt River Indian Reservation, had no ties to a former girlfriend of Stenson's who had threatened the player shortly before his death.

Police say Jennifer Gaddis, Stenson's ex, remains an investigative lead, but the November robbery that led to Stenson's death appears to have been a random act.

She said they intend to do the same for David Griffith, 20. Both are charged with first-degree murder of Cincinnati Reds OF Dernell Stenson.
