The Associated Press reports the autopsy on Hamilton Tiger-Cats OL Travis Claridge has returned and his death has been ruled accidental. He had an intoxicating level of the narcotic oxycodone in his system and an enlarged heart. Both were deemed major factors in his death.

NFL | Former offensive lineman Claridge passes away

The Canadian Press reports former NFL and current CFL OL Travis Claridge, who was member of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, died Tuesday, Feb. 28. Claridge, 27, died in hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada, after being found unconscious at his home earlier in the day. The cause of death was not specified. KFFL sends their condolences to his family and friends.

KFFL has learned Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Reeves will gather his offensive and defensive coaching staffs together this week in order to review, and possibly tweak, both the team's playbook and starting lineup. In particular, LG Travis Claridge could be benched in favor of OG Roberto Garza, and, given the team's injury problems at linebacker, Reeves may consider the possibility of switching from a 3-4 defensive alignment to a 4-3.

Falcons | Reeves Gives Praises For Hard Work

The official site of the Atlanta Falcons reports head coach Dan Reeves was pleased with the play of offensive linemen Ephraim Salaam and Travis Claridge. Reeves was worried because the line was thin because of Kynan Forney's (foot) problems with his foot. On the defensive side of the ball, Reeves thought DLs Pat Kerney and Brady Smith were really active in their play as Kerney caused a fumble and had two sacks. Overall, Reeves liked what he saw from both his lines.

However, offensive line coach Pete Mangurian said the starting job is not settled between Thompson and Travis Claridge, who started the first two pre-season games. Mangurian said both will likely play a lot in the regular season regardless of who starts.

The Macon Telegraph's Joseph Person reports Atlanta Falcons OL Ephraim Salaam has fallen to No. 2 on the team's depth chart at left tackle behind veteran Bob Whitfield. Travis Claridge has Salaam's old spot at right tackle. Salaam reported in great shape, having dropped about 30 pounds from his playing weight at the end of last year. "I still feel I'm the best right tackle on this team. That's just me," said Salaam.

Charles Odum, of the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer, reports for the Sporting News that with the exception of left tackle, which will be played by Bob Whitfield, every starting job on the Atlanta Falcons offensive line is open. RT Ephraim Salaam, RG Travis Claridge, C Todd McClure and LG Calvin Collins were also part of the first-team offensive line in the recent minicamp. Michael Thompson could push Salaam at right tackle.
