Dave Boling, of the Tacoma News Tribune, reports free agent QB Brock Huard (Seahawks) has not officially retired from the NFL, but has moved on to a number of other endeavors. He has offered color commentary for NFL Network broadcasts of NFL Europe games, he oversees a commercial development project for a Seattle firm and he has some land-development action of his own that he is working on. Still, he works out several days a week to stay somewhere near playing shape and has issued a few reminders to NFL teams that he would make himself available if they needed a quarterback. Huard said, "If there's an injury or something crazy happens somewhere (in the NFL), I want to make sure I'm still in fighting shape. But I also don't have any grand illusions. The phone hasn't been ringing. I've made a lot of calls this year and kind of put myself out there, which I was uncomfortable with."

Mike Sando reports for the Tacoma News Tribune tonight's pre-season game should begin to reveal some key answers for the Seattle Seahawks. The first big question is who will be the team's No. 2 QB, Brock Huard or Trent Dilfer. Coach Mike Holmgren stopped short of saying the No. 2 job will be determined tonight, but Dilfer could go a long way toward securing the job with a solid performance during his extended playing time tonight. The team will closely watch current starting CBs Ken Lucas and Ike Charlton to determine if they need to pursue another CB through free agency or off the waiver wire. A third question is how well will starting WRs Koren Robinson and James Williams play.
