Denver Broncos interim head coach Jack Del Rio said Friday, Nov. 15, that QB Peyton Manning (ankle) is "definite" for the Week 11 showdown against the Kansas City Chiefs. "They don't have a definite category on there, or I would check it off," Del Rio said. "He's ready to go, and as a team we're ready to go."
Fantasy Tip: While Kansas City ranks sixth in the NFL in passing defense, allowing 208.3 yards per game and just nine passing touchdowns in nine games, you're not really going to reserve Manning in fantasy leagues, are you? Didn't think so.

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning (ankle) is expected to play in the team's Week 11 showdown against the Kansas City Chiefs after his MRI exam Monday, Nov. 11, showed no new damage to his injured right ankle. Manning was not in a walking boot Monday, according to a player source. The Denver Post's Mike Klis was told by a source that Manning "absolutely will play Sunday against the Chiefs."
Fantasy Tip: It'll be one of Denver's stiffest tests of the season, especially with their offensive line struggling lately. If Manning is playing, he needs to be in your starting lineup.
Mon, 11 Nov 2013 10:32:17 -0800
The Denver Broncos are believed to want QB Peyton Manning (ankle, knee) to undergo an MRI exam on his knee as well as his ankle. Manning wouldn't specify what was ailing him exactly, but he was limping slightly in the locker room after the Week 10 game. He hopes it's not something he'll have to deal with for the rest of the season.
Fantasy Tip: Obviously, this is a concern. However, the injuries don't appear to be too serious, barring MRI results. Although the matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 11 will be tough, you can't sit Manning if he's healthy enough to play.
Sun, 10 Nov 2013 17:46:08 -0800
Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning (ankle) took a shot late in the Week 10 game against the San Diego Chargers, and appeared to be gimpy, although he stayed in the game and finished. He said Sunday, Nov. 10, that he will have an MRI Monday, Nov. 11, and certainly expects to play in Week 11 against the Kansas City Chiefs. "I certainly plan on it," Manning said.
Fantasy Tip: Manning has been toughing it out through sore ankles for the past couple of games. He has a whole week to get better, and he is unlikely to miss any time unless the MRI turns up some sort of unforeseen structural damage. Knowing Manning, even then, he'll probably do whatever he can to play. Fantasy owners do not need to worry just yet.

Thu, 07 Nov 2013 12:31:38 -0800
Denver Broncos defensive coordinator and interim head coach Jack Del Rio said he doesn't plan to tinker with the team's offensive game plan much at all as he takes over for head coach John Fox (heart). Offensive coordinator Adam Gase will call the offensive plays and QB Peyton Manning will make audibles at the line. "I'm not going in tinkering with things on offense or special teams. We have good people there, and they're doing their jobs," Del Rio said.
Fantasy Tip: The offense in Denver is Manning's show, so not a whole lot will change in Week 10 against the San Diego Chargers. Start all of their offensive playmakers as you have been all season.
Wed, 06 Nov 2013 14:20:18 -0800

Mon, 28 Oct 2013 09:34:02 -0700
Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning (ankles) said he was sore following the team's Week 8 win over the Washington Redskins, but that he is alright. "I'm going to go down on the injury report, starting now, under 'body,' just keep me there, that's what I'm going under," Manning said. "I actually felt pretty good out there, felt like I was moving around, felt like I was able to move in the pocket a little bit and see some things and felt good out there. The bye week is coming at a good time for a lot of people physically, me as well." He finished with 354 yards passing, four touchdowns and three interceptions in the game.
Fantasy Tip: Denver's bye week couldn't come at a better time for Manning, who'll be able to rest his sore ankles. There is some worry that the offensive line is beat up and won't be able to protect Manning in the second half of the season. For fantasy purposes, he may have already hit his peak in the first half of the season, but he should continue to put up top-end QB1 numbers on a weekly basis.
Sun, 27 Oct 2013 09:36:58 -0700

Sun, 27 Oct 2013 07:48:10 -0700
Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning (ankles) has suffered ankle sprains in both ankles. Manning will play with a pain killer in Week 8.
Fantasy Tip: Manning is not the most mobile of quarterbacks, so this should not play too much of a role in his play today.

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning (ankle) was held out of practice with a minor ankle injury Wednesday, Oct. 23. However, he's expected to return to practice Thursday, Oct. 24, and play in Week 8 against the Washington Redskins. "It was (head trainer Steve Antonopulos') call, I didn't go down without a fight, I assure you," Manning said. "… I look forward, hopefully, being out there (Thursday)."
Fantasy Tip: It looks like Manning will be fine for this weekend. Keep him in your lineups.

Before the game, the Colts honored Manning with a video tribute and Manning acknowledged the fans in a nice moment.

The Indianapolis Colts plan to honor Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning for his 14 seasons with the organization when the Colts and Broncos play in Week 7 on Sunday, Oct. 20, owner Jim Irsay told USA Today Sports. "We're going to have a great tribute to him," Irsay told the newspaper. "It's going to be something where you go into it wanting to have a lot of fun, where you love Peyton as a Colt fan, but now we're competing against him." Details of the tribute have yet to be finalized.
Wed, 09 Oct 2013 20:59:33 -0700
Oakland Raiders QB Terrelle Pryor has posted a passer rating of 97.6, which ranks behind only Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning, Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo, San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers, New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees, Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers and Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan. His completion percentage of 68.3 trails only Manning, Rivers, Romo, Brees and Ryan, and he has a 72.7 completion percentage in the pocket, which is fourth-best in the NFL. "His mechanics have really improved," head coach Dennis Allen said Wednesday, Oct. 9. "He's got a good presence in the pocket, yet can get out and make plays. He's always been a great athlete, but he's getting better as a quarterback."
Fantasy Tip: Pryor has emerged as a low-end No. 1 fantasy option in most leagues of 12 or more teams. He has surprised more than any other fantasy quarterback to this point, as far as success. There are plenty who have surprised by being disappointing.
Sun, 06 Oct 2013 23:46:20 -0700
With his performance on Sunday, Oct. 6, Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning now has 61,371 passing yards, which elevated him into second all-time ahead of Dan Marino (61,361). Manning is behind Brett Favre, who threw for 71,838 yards with the Green Bay Packers, New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings.

Manning was 32-for-37 for 374 yards and three touchdowns against the Raiders.
Fri, 06 Sep 2013 01:10:25 -0700
Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning tied an NFL record with seven touchdown passes against the Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens on Thursday, Sept. 5. Manning becomes the sixth player to throw for that many, and the first since Joe Kapp on Sept. 28, 1969. Manning, a four-time MVP, also tied Brett Favre's NFL record with his 23rd career game with at least four TD throws, and Drew Brees' mark with his seventh career five-TD performance.
Wed, 04 Sep 2013 21:07:50 -0700
The Denver Broncos will use RBs Montee Ball, Ronnie Hillman and Knowshon Moreno in a running back by committee approach in their regular season opener Thursday, Sept. 5, against the Baltimore Ravens, according to a source. The team makes protection QB Peyton Manning a priority, and Ball's pass protection is something he needs to improve, so expect to see plenty of Hillman and Moreno in Week 1.
Fantasy Tip: The three-headed RB approach is something that will give fantasy owners fits, not just in the opener, but for the first handful of games until someone takes the reins and emerges as the clear-cut No. 1 tailback. It may or may not happen, but most figure Ball will be the one to emerge as the top dog. For now, Ball should be considered a low-end RB2, while the other two are best used as RB3s or flex options.
Tue, 27 Aug 2013 09:46:36 -0700
The Denver Broncos are expected to start the season with just two quarterbacks - QB Peyton Manning and QB Brock Osweiler - on the 53-man roster.
Tue, 06 Aug 2013 18:19:10 -0700
Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning wore gloves during the team's recent intrasquad scrimmage. He also did so during the Pro Bowl, and in cold weather. "It was slick out there," Manning said. "So it was hard to get a good grip on it. We really didn't get a chance to warm up. We just sort of stretched and they said, "let's go." So it happened really quick and I said, "Boy, the balls are slick," and I felt like I had a better grip on it with the glove."
Fri, 28 Jun 2013 12:42:39 -0700
Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning said WR Wes Welker has been fitting in well and believes things will get better with increased repetitions. "He really has an ability to read coverages and I think he takes it as seriously as a quarterback does," Manning said. "That really has worked well for him, and as a quarterback, you sort of appreciate that. But hopefully we can still keep going. There's some things that we need to improve on, which repetitions are the best way to improve that."
Fri, 28 Jun 2013 06:37:38 -0700
Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning said he has studied the New England Patriots' offense to discover what worked well for WR Wes Welker. "There's certain pass patterns and certain things that he's done so well for so long, you'd be crazy not to copy some of those and bring those to your offense," Manning said.
Fri, 31 May 2013 06:03:48 -0700
Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning has been working with RB Montee Ball after organized team activities and said Ball has been learning the playbook. Manning said the team will be counting on Ball a lot this season. "We're just kind of going through plays, going through games, getting him comfortable hearing audibles at the line of scrimmage. Because we are going to count on him in a big way this year," Manning said. "He's a rookie, but [head coach John Fox] isn't going to bring him along slowly."
Fantasy Tip: It is pretty clear that Ball likely will be the team's starting running back this season. It is smart of Ball to work with Manning this offseason because it will allow him to learn the different things Manning does before the snap. Ball should be seen as a No. 2 fantasy running back this season or a weekly option for the flex position.
Thu, 30 May 2013 05:58:06 -0700
Denver Broncos WR Eric Decker said QB Peyton Manning has more "zip" on his passes this year. "I think (the ball) coming to you quicker can be his reads and comfort level with the receivers, too," Decker said. "But I think some of those throws that he fits in the holes, you feel a little more zip on it and he is getting it to you quicker."
Fantasy Tip: The question has always been whether Manning could ever regain enough arm strength to throw deep balls and deliver the ball quickly enough in the open windows. This is a good sign.
Tue, 28 May 2013 06:39:53 -0700
Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning said he feels more comfortable than he did last year. "Not that I feel as comfortable as I did in my eighth year in Indianapolis, but it's a heck of a lot more comfortable than I was last year," Manning said.
Tue, 21 May 2013 09:36:38 -0700
Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning already feels like he has some chemistry with WR Wes Welker. "There's certain guys you just feel like you have timing with right away," Manning said. "He's a guy that has a great feel for how to get open, and understands route concepts and, of course, he played in such a sophisticated offense there in New England, so he's a smart player." The Broncos used three-receiver sets 64 percent of the time last year, but expect that to increase dramatically as they look to create mismatches in the opposing defenses.
Fantasy Tip: This is good news for the Broncos, but for those in point-per-reception leagues, don't expect Welker to add 100-plus catches again with Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker in the picture. Welker should still be very productive, but he may no longer be a WR1 in those formats.
