Broncos | Peyton Manning out at least two weeks

Tue, 24 Nov 2015 17:50:51 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning (foot, ribs) will miss at least the next two weeks as he continues to recover from a partially torn plantar fascia and a rib injury, according to head coach Gary Kubiak. Manning will still be able to participate in workouts and be a part of team meetings, but his foot will also be in a cast for at least a week.

Fantasy Tip: Brock Osweiler ($6,400, 12.8% of cap) looks to be the starting quarterback for a few more games, but Manning will start once he is healthy, as Kubiak has already stated. As for this week, Osweiler is a bit of a risky start as the New England Patriots are a little bit better than average against quarterbacks from a fantasy perspective.

Broncos | Denver used more two-TE sets

Tue, 24 Nov 2015 15:27:54 -0800

The Denver Broncos used multiple tight end sets on 83.8% of their Week 11 plays with QB Brock Osweiler under center as opposed to using three-wide receiver sets 60% of the time with QB Peyton Manning playing. TE Vernon Davis was more involved as a result, and the Broncos ground game was successful.

Fantasy Tip: There's no question that Davis ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) becomes much more intriguing with Osweiler playing, and the tight end had his best game of the season (six catches, 68 yards) against the Chicago Bears. However, a Week 12 matchup against the New England Patriots won't be easy, meaning Davis should still be considered much more of a sleeper daily play at the position.

Broncos | Peyton Manning focused on recovery

Mon, 23 Nov 2015 11:44:24 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning (foot) has been focused on recovering in order to play this year, contrary to rumors that he had been talking about next year, according to head coach Gary Kubiak.

Fantasy Tip: Manning is expected to be able to take the field again this season; he simply needs some time to recover from the plantar fascia he's dealing with. In the meantime, Brock Osweiler will start and should be viewed as a QB2.

Broncos | Peyton Manning wants second opinion

Mon, 23 Nov 2015 11:36:23 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning (foot) is receiving a second opinion in Charlotte, N.C., from orthopedic foot specialist, Dr. Robert Anderson, Monday, Nov. 23.

Fantasy Tip: It's still unclear just how long Manning will remain sidelined; perhaps a second opinion will make his timetable clear. For now, Brock Osweiler will start in his place, but Manning is expected to return this season if/when he's healthy enough to do so.

Broncos | Brock Osweiler not permanent starter

Mon, 23 Nov 2015 11:26:06 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Brock Osweiler is not Denver's permanent starting quarterback for the rest of the season, according to sources. QB Peyton Manning (foot) is expected to start again once he is healthy.

Fantasy Tip: Osweiler performed well enough in Week 11 to earn another start in Week 12. Of course, the fact that Manning isn't 100% doesn't hurt his chances. Osweiler's matchup with the New England Patriots is decent, but he shouldn't be your first choice at quarterback.

Sun, 22 Nov 2015 22:32:33 -0800

Broncos | Peyton Manning won't travel

Fri, 20 Nov 2015 11:43:07 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning (foot, ribs) won't travel with the team in Week 11, and he has been watching practice all week. The plan was for him to focus on rehab.

Fantasy Tip: Brock Osweiler ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) is a wild card play against the Chicago Bears on FantasyScore. He's a bit of a boom-or-bust pick.

Broncos | Peyton Manning off the grid

Fri, 20 Nov 2015 09:12:04 -0800

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning (foot) hasn't attended any practices or meetings this week and also hasn't had a single conversation with QB Brock Osweiler about the game plan against the Chicago Bears in Week 11. There is currently no timetable on a return for Manning. Head coach Gary Kubiak prefers that Manning put all of his focus on his treatment and getting healthy. It's unknown if Manning will make the trip with the team to Chicago.

Fantasy Tip: Manning is out this week and who knows for how much longer. It depends on how his treatment and healing goes for his injured foot. In traditional leagues you have to consider dropping him at this point for a more favorable quarterback option to help you down the stretch.
