Broncos | Peyton Manning frustrated with practice

Tue, 19 Aug 2014 13:30:17 -0700

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning was disappointed with how the Broncos' offense played against the Houston Texans in practice Tuesday, Aug. 19. "I thought our offense stunk. I thought their defense kicked our butt. We will learn from the film, and hopefully we come out tomorrow and do a better job from a players' standpoint and execute."

Fantasy Tip: Not a lot should be gleaned from one joint practice. The Broncos have looked dominant this preseason and Manning is still the No. 1 fantasy quarterback to draft.

Broncos | Ryan Clady makes a difference

Fri, 08 Aug 2014 15:51:17 -0700

Denver Broncos OT Ryan Clady was a brick against edge rushers in the team's preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks Thursday, Aug. 8. QB Peyton Manning was able to step up in the pocket against the Seahawks, something he was unable to do in the Super Bowl loss to the same team.

Fantasy Tip: Manning and his fantasy owners this year will welcome Clady's return to the offensive line with open arms. Stepping up in the pocket is big for Manning and his comfortability.

Broncos | Emmanuel Sanders compares QBs

Mon, 28 Jul 2014 17:11:56 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders said QB Peyton Manning is a "better leader" than Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger. "This is the first time that I had a quarterback that stays every single day after practice, no matter what his accolades," Sanders said. "From NFL MVP, Super Bowl rings. He keeps guys like me and (Cody) Latimer after practice and we're out there 15, 20 minutes. And he's not one of those guys you gotta go chase down, he's gonna be right at the same spot ready to work, every single day."

Fantasy Tip: Sanders is set to be the No. 3 receiver for the Broncos this season, and the extra work he is putting in with Manning should help him hit the ground running when the season begins. He is worth drafting in the middle rounds as a WR3 in fantasy leagues.

Broncos | Looking to have more efficient running game

Mon, 07 Jul 2014 11:17:35 -0700

The Denver Broncos will still be a passing team but want to have a more efficient running game since they will be facing more defensive subpackages during games. "We're always going to try to get the best look, to do the best thing in each situation for the offense to be successful," offensive coordinator Adam Gase said. "The more things we can do, the more options we have. We want to be able to execute the plays we want in those situations. If that's throwing, that's throwing the ball, if it's running, then we want that available, too." A better running game will also help QB Peyton Manning's play-action passing.

Fantasy Tip: Montee Ball is entering this upcoming season as the starter and should have space to run with opponents worrying about the teams running game. Ball should be a starter in every league and likely will be selected in the first two or three rounds.

Broncos | Peyton Manning was NFL's most accurate QB last year

Fri, 04 Jul 2014 10:06:27 -0700

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning ranked first in the NFL last year in "catchable" passes, according to Stats Inc. He also ranked above the league average in terms of completion percentage on both short and deep throw to all areas of the field.

Fantasy Tip: While his arm strength has been questioned in recent years, the fact that his accuracy remains elite should help ensure that Manning continues to put up huge offensive numbers.

Broncos | Peyton Manning not acting differently this year

Wed, 11 Jun 2014 15:04:20 -0700

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning isn't going into the 2014 season treating it any differently than he has previous seasons, according to TE Julius Thomas. "I don't think we have any additional pressure because of Peyton's age. He is going to come out here and he is going to expect the best of us day in and day out, and it is up to us all to live up to that," Thomas said.

Fantasy Tip: Manning won't match his record-setting numbers from 2013, but Denver's offense is still among the most potent in the league, despite losing a few weapons. You'll have to pay a hefty price for his services this year as likely the first QB off the board.

Broncos | Peyton Manning looking to reduce fumbles

Thu, 29 May 2014 14:44:11 -0700

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning was carrying around a football covered in green Lycra during organized team activities Wednesday, May 28. Manning declined to disclose the details about why he was using the green football, but it's believed that he's using the ball to emphasis hanging onto the football. The Broncos fumbled 27 times last year and lost 16 of them, which was more than any other squad. Manning himself lost six fumbles, which was the most in his career.

Broncos | Peyton Manning still not all the way back

Tue, 06 May 2014 07:07:03 -0700

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning (neck) said he's still not all the way back to 100 percent after his 2011 neck surgery. "I'm not 100 percent compared to what I was before my surgery, but I have made strides each season and this year felt a lot better than the year before," Manning said. "But these nerves just go at their own pace. It's not like it's going to have this immediate recovery one day." Manning said it took time and repetition to get back to where he could control his passes. "It was weak and I lost awareness of my arm in space, a proprioception issue," Manning said. "So I just used to sit in front of a mirror and go through my throwing motions, trying to get the feel back the way I'd always thrown before. I was trying to throw to some receivers, so I would throw to you and the ball would go (points finger) there. That was very scary."
