The Indianapolis Star reports Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne (high ankle sprain), RB Lennox Gordon (rib cartilage), OL Ben Gilbert (hip soreness), DB Rodregis Brooks (high ankle sprain) and DL Hans Olsen (broken hand) will not play Friday. WR E.G. Green (strained calf) and starting G Larry Moore (hyperextended knee) were back at practice on Tuesday.

According to the Indianapolis Star, rookie WR Reggie Wayne (ankle) is one of several Indianapolis Colts players who will sit out tonight's pre-season game. The others are WR E.G. Green (calf), OL Larry Moore (knee), Waverly Jackson (knee) and Ben Gilbert (hip), LB Josh Gentry (mononucleosis), RB Kevin McDougal (quadriceps) and CB Raymond Walls (hamstring). Two recent signings, LB Ratcliff Thomas and OT Chase Raynock won't play either.

As an update to a previous story, the Indianapolis Star reports Indianapolis Colts OL Tim Ridder will miss the 2001 season after suffering a knee injury (ACL) during a practice last week against the Titans. WR Troy Albea sustained damage to the MCL in his left knee, but the team will wait to determine his status. WR E.G. Green (calf), RB Kevin McDougal (quadriceps), G Larry Moore (knee), OL Waverly Jackson (knee) and Josh Gentry (illness) all missed practice on Monday. OL Ben Gilbert was not at practice either as he had his hip examined.

Colts | Offensive Line Notes

Mike Chappell, of the Indianapolis Star-News, reports for the Sporting News that the Indianapolis Colts think they have uncovered two promising offensive line candidates in the draft. G Ryan Diem could push Ben Gilbert for the backup spot behind Larry Moore. Rick DeMulling also looks promising and has been playing as backup to LG Steve McKinney during minicamps.

The Indianapolis Star/News reports Indianapolis Colts OL Ben Gilbert underwent arthroscopic surgery on his hip and will be out of action until training camp. DT Rob Renes (back) hasn't been cleared to return as of yet. He spent all of last year on injured reserve and may not be ready for training camp. Rookie DE David Warren (back) has been given medical clearance to participate in summer school with the Colts.
