Los Angeles Dodgers 1B Adrian Gonzalez, who set a franchise record with 19 hits through the first nine games of the season, said he has kept his approach at the plate simple to begin the year. He's now batting a major league-leading .528 and has reached base two or more times in each game this year. "I haven't really been trying to hit home runs in BP. I've just been trying to hit line drives up the middle. I think it's played out, especially when I've been facing lefties, where I've been hitting the ball up the middle, the other way, more than I did last year," Gonzalez said.
Fantasy Tip: While Gonzalez ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) likely already reached his fantasy peak in 2015, he could very well be in the beginning of a return to the 30-homer mark if he can stay healthy. You should continue riding him at FantasyScore while he's scorching hot. A matchup against Colorado Rockies starter Kyle Kendrick looks juicy, too.

Los Angeles Dodgers 1B Adrian Gonzalez swatted three solo home runs Wednesday, April 8, against the San Diego Padres. He is just the third player in franchise history to homer in his team's first three games, and the first since 1974. His five homers in the first three games sets a major league record.
Fantasy Tip: Gonzalez posted 10 hits in the three-game set with San Diego, swatting five homers with seven RBIs. He is an obvious must-start in FantasyScore at just $5,600 (or 11.2% of cap) until he starts to cool off.

Los Angeles Dodgers 1B Adrian Gonzalez and OF Yasiel Puig will be paired in the lineup this year, according to manager Don Mattingly. They will be paired in either the second and third spots or the third and fourth spots in the lineup, and Gonzalez is on board with the idea. "With him, if he gets on base, he creates a threat to the pitcher, the pitcher worries about him a little more, may make more mistakes to me," the first baseman said. "And I'm protecting him a little bit." Gonzalez downplayed the idea that Puig will automatically have increased production hitting in front of him, though.
Fantasy Tip: Gonzalez ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) and Puig ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) hitting side by side in the lineup won't automatically raise their fantasy value considerably, but it won't hurt in the grand scheme of things. Against James Shields and the San Diego Padres on opening day, both Gonzalez and Puig should be acceptable daily plays at FantasyScore, with Puig obviously being more attractive to owners.

Los Angeles Dodgers 1B Adrian Gonzalez (rest) is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, Aug. 12, against the Atlanta Braves. OF Scott Van Slyke is batting fourth and playing first base.
Fantasy Tip: Mike Minor has struggled mightily (7.34 ERA) over his last seven starts, which makes Van Slyke an excellent target in daily games. Gonzalez has five consecutive multi-hit games, so sitting against the struggling Minor is a bit of a surprise, although it is a lefty-lefty matchup.
