The Pittsburgh Pirates recalled 3B Pedro Alvarez, P Aaron Thompson and Daniel Moskos from the minors Tuesday, Sept. 6. Also, RP Evan Meek (shoulder) was activated from the 60-day disabled list and SPs Kevin Correia (oblique) and Paul Maholm (shoulder) were moved to the 60-day DL.

Pittsburgh Pirates SP Kevin Correia (oblique) is likely out for the rest of the season due to an oblique injury. He landed on the 15-day disabled list Monday, Aug. 22, due to the strained left oblique.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have placed SP Kevin Correia (oblique) on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained left oblique. In a corresponding move, the team recalled RP Chris Leroux from Triple-A Indianapolis.

Pittsburgh Pirates SP Kevin Correia allowed six runs on eight hits over six innings in a no-decision against the Cincinnati Reds Friday, Aug. 19, with one walk and one strikeout. Correia's home ERA rose to 7.75 in 12 games this season, although he leads the majors with 10 road victories.

Pittsburgh Pirates SP Kevin Correia slipped to 2-7 at home in a loss Tuesday, Aug. 2, against the Chicago Cubs. He also failed in his bid for a career-high 13th victory. "I'm going to move into the Westin downtown," Correia said. "I guess I only pitch well if I sleep in a hotel bed the night before." He allowed four home runs in two-plus innings, giving up a total of eight runs and 10 hits with two walks and four strikeouts.
