Updating previous reports, Lori Nickel, of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, reports Green Bay Packers WR Jorg Heckenbach (kidneys) made his first appearance at camp since encountering kidney problems a week ago. The condition began to affect his kidneys, and doctors were concerned he might suffer permanent damage. He said he is past the danger point and doesn't appear to have suffered any permanent effects, but his football career is on hold until doctors clear him. For now, he must undergo blood work every day to make sure his body is functioning properly.

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports Green Bay Packers WR Jorg Heckenbach (kidneys) should be released from the Bellin Health Hospital Center in Green Bay on Sunday, July 27, or Monday, July 28. He experienced cramping and muscle fatigue last week after he struggled to complete the team's conditioning runs. He was admitted to the hospital once his kidneys were not filtering properly. Heckenbach, who played seven seasons in NFL Europe, probably will not return to practice with the Packers.

The Green Bay Packers have signed WR/LS Jorg Heckenbach (Berlin Thunder), according to Packers.com. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. Heckenbach, a native of Dusseldorf, Germany, is a seven-year veteran of NFL Europe.
