USAToday.com reports the Cleveland Indians have agreed to terms with free-agent RP Jason Stanford (Nationals) on a minor league contract. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. Stanford has been assigned to Triple-A Buffalo.

After that the team is undecided on what his role will be, although they are considering him for long relief.

Updating previous items, Cleveland Indians SP Jason Stanford had a solid outing in his 2007 debut Thursday, June 14, according to the Yahoo! Sports box score. Stanford went six innings, giving up just one earned run on six hits while fanning seven. He threw 89 pitches, with 63 going for strikes. He was in line for the win heading into the bottom of the ninth inning.

Updating an earlier item, Sports Network confirms the Cleveland Indians purchased SP Jason Stanford's contract from Triple-A Buffalo prior to his start Thursday, June 14. It was his first big-league start since having reconstructive elbow surgery after the 2004 season.
