San Diego Padres OF Carlos Quentin (knee) is scheduled to start a rehab assignment with Single-A Lake Elsinore Friday, May 25. Manager Bud Black said there is no specific number of games or at-bats the team wants Quentin to have during his rehab assignment. Quentin did play three extended spring games and played in the field in two of the games.

San Diego Padres OF Carlos Quentin (knee) suffered a slight setback in his minor-league rehab assignment with Class A Lake Elsinore, and he did not play over the weekend. The Storm has an open date Monday, May 14, so the earliest Quentin could resume his rehab assignment would be Tuesday, May 15.

San Diego Padres OF Carlos Quentin (knee) said Monday, May 7, that he is encouraged by the progress of his knee, and he might be ready to return from the 15-day disabled list as soon as Friday, May 11. "I'm not counting out the road trip," Quentin said. He will play minor-league rehab games Tuesday, May 8, and Wednesday, May 9, for Class A Lake Elsinore.

San Diego Padres OF Carlos Quentin (knee) is expected to return to San Diego Monday, May 7, to check in with the team from his minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Tucson. Quentin will resume his rehab with Class A Lake Elsinore sometime this week, but manager Bud Black did not say when the rehab will end.
