The Oakland Athletics are not close to trading RP Andrew Bailey to the Cincinnati Reds or SP Gio Gonzalez to the Miami Marlins. However, the A's are currently fielding many calls for these two pitchers. Bailey is much more likely to be dealt than Gonzalez. The team could also try to trade RPs Grant Balfour or Brian Fuentes.

Oakland Athletics skipper Bob Melvin said that he is slowly moving RP Brian Fuentes back into a prominent role in the back end of the bullpen. Fuentes and RP Fautino De Los Santos are expected to share the seventh inning.

Oakland Athletics manager Bob Melvin and pitching coach Ron Romanick aren't concerned about RP Brian Fuentes, despite an ugly 1-8 record in relief. "It's not like it's walk-off home runs," Melvin said. "I can't fault him for how he pitched there. It's unfortunate he has to go through it."
