New York Yankees RP David Aardsma (elbow) has been able to play catch from 90 feet for five minutes and his arm is feeling good. Aardsma isn't setting a timetable for when he will be ready to return to game action, though. The team is eyeing the All-Star break as a possible time.

New York Yankees RP David Aardsma (elbow) will be placed on the 60-day disabled list soon, as the team needs to make room on the 40-man roster for 3B Eric Chavez, when his deal becomes official. Aardsma is not expected to return until at least July, as he recovers from Tommy John surgery. General manager Brian Cashman said Aardsma will be in camp Monday, Feb. 27.

The New York Yankees signed free-agent RP David Aardsma (elbow) to an undisclosed deal Wednesday, Feb. 22. He will start the season on the disabled list after having Tommy John surgery last July. It's possible he could join the team at the end of the season. His deal includes an option for the 2013 season.

Free-agent RP David Aardsma (Mariners) has resumed throwing but will not pursue a new contract until he is further along on his rehab, according to agent Jamie Murphy. Aardsma is recovering from Tommy John surgery.

Seattle Mariners RP David Aardsma (elbow) cleared waivers and has become a free agent. The M's chose not to go to arbitration with their closer after he recovers from Tommy John surgery. He would have been owed at least $3.6 million in arbitration. Aardsma expects to be fully recovered by June or July of next year.
