Boston Red Sox OF Grady Sizemore said his body is feeling great so far this spring. "I'm happy with how things are feeling from a body standpoint," the center fielder said. "Just not noticing anything out there, not having any pain, not coming in feeling worse the next day. It's as good as I could have hoped for." He spends plenty of time being worked on by the training staff, and he's been a bit rusty at the plate, however. Sizemore also hasn't been cleared to steal a base yet.

Boston Red Sox hitting coach Gregg Colbrunn has been impressed with OF Grady Sizemore's swing in camp. "It's simple, it's smooth, it's under control. All the good things you look for in a swing, that's what his swing looks like right now," Colbrunn said. Sizemore will play in an exhibition game Thursday, Feb. 27. He has been working in both center field and left field this spring. Sizemore was also up to "full speed" running the bases and playing the outfield last week.

Boston Red Sox OF Grady Sizemore has plenty of supporters in the organization; manager John Farrell, assistant general manager Mike Hazen, bench coach Torey Lovullo and head athletic trainer Rick Jameyson all worked with Sizemore with the Cleveland Indians and know him very well.
Fantasy Tip: Having supporters around him could be key for Sizemore, especially if he and Jackie Bradley are neck and neck in spring training competition for the center field job. Of course, the key for Sizemore will be staying healthy. He's a low-risk investment that could pay off tremendously.

The Boston Red Sox view a healthy OF Grady Sizemore (knee) as competition for OF Jackie Bradley for the starting center fielder job. "This doesn't take Jackie out of the mix at all," manager John Farrell said Wednesday, Jan. 22. "There's questions that we have to answer in spring training with our roster, so the fact of Grady signing and being added to our roster doesn't remove Jackie from our club. I think one of the things that (general manager Ben Cherington) and all of us have set out to do is add to the depth of our team, and Grady certainly does that right now."
Fantasy Tip: Sizemore still has a long way to go to prove his health before becoming a serious threat to Bradley. Right now, Bradley should be considered the replacement for Jacoby Ellsbury in center field, but obviously there is a lot to be determined during the spring.
